oh, S$6 is slightly cheaper than mybadmintonstore. But according to mybadmintonstore, Zymax65 will start selling in asia pacific at late April or early May. But to ease the curiosity in my heart, i had ordered a packet from stringersworld and should be arriving today or tomorrow. Currently using Zymax62, the performance is some how better than BG66UM. Will continue to use Zymax strings rather than using Yonex strings.

anybody noticed that the new Zymax strings are slightly thicker than the old counterpart. i measured the ZM67. the old one is around 0.67mm as spec, the new one (red) mostly measures near 0.7mm
hahaha, at one point i thought you were going to color you white strings all red i used to get zymax 62 for RM30 and 67 for RM28 (including string service) from pertama complex. recently i got mine from Eric (squashmart ebay) for roughly RM12 each no stock for ZM65 yet though
My red Z65 is already in situ and ready for its baptism of fire tonight. Will play and compare it against my other Z62, BG66UM and Z67. But it won't be a robust ABAB study as the Z65 is on a different racquet model to the Z62 and BG66UM. And the Z67 is again on another different racquet model and at a lower tension as I have done it up for sale. Still, looking forward to trialling it.
hmmm, now that you mention it, the new 67 does look a tad thicker than the old on my rackets, at least by my eyeballing measurement. . now I need to compare the new 67 with an old 70 to see.
What kinda messed up string is this?? DC told me himself the red is the thinnest and plays thinner than a 67, close to the 65?
Finally completed 3 sessions of about 7.5 hours play using the new Z65 and was able to make some comparisons to the Z62, Z67, BG66UM and BG80P. I stringed 3 racquets with the Z65, two at 26 lbs and one at 28 lbs. The Z62s and the BG66UM were stringed in late Feb at 26 lbs and the new BG80P was stringed over the weekend at 28 lbs. Overall impression is that the Z65 is very much as expected and as described by others - a very good repulsive string with a high metallic pitch, conjures full-bodied screaming smashes, and very capable for sliced shots and light touches. i found that even when I was late to the net and the shuttle was close to the floor I was able to return it over the net or near enough due in part to the repulsiveness. Clears and drives were predictable, easily pushing the shuttle to the back, and fast low exchanges a joy. The string pings alongs happily as well as the others and rewards you with that giddy aural stimulation that is almost expected now of the new genre of strings. I would specualte that between the Zymax siblings any difference(s) between the Z62, Z65 and Z67 is equivocal and I expect will be dictated by personal preference, feel and technique. I would contend that the Z67 has a tiny edge in producing the ooomph in the smashes, whilst the Z62 is probably the winter string to have. i have found that earlier in the year I had to cut the Z67s from the racquets and restring with Z62s as the Z62s continued to deliver their performance whilst the Z67 felt stiffer and duller in tone in the colder temperatures eg below 16C. Needless to say there will be consternation amongst others that the Z62 will be more brittle and even more vulnerable to string breakage in colder temperatures. But I have not found this to be the case as in 2 years of playing with the new and older Z62s I have only ever broken it once and that was a Z62 v1.0 in summer from a mishit at 1.00 o'clock. The rest of my Z62s have died only when I took a knife to them when it was time for a fresh string, usually after 4-6 months of play. I checked the temperature in the hall yesterday and it was comfortably warm at 19C and all 3 strings played admirably well. I would be keen however to see how the Z65 performs against the Z62 when the temperature does dip again. Perhaps someone with the know-how will explain if the stress-strain tension curve characteristics of fine gauge and thicker gauge strings is dependent on temperature changes? I wonder if anyone from eg. the Far East and sunny parts of the USA has found the Z67 to be stable and predictable in warmer climes? The Z65 was also very much on par with the BG66UM on all fronts and I did not notice any gaping difference in control between the smoother Yonex and the more textured Z65. The Z65 appeared to have better repulsion but I attribute this to the fact the BG66UM string was already almost 8 weeks old. Like others I have found the BG66UM to perform best in its youth and its performance drops of after. However my experience is that it's another winter saviour as during the colder spells it has a longer youth, performs like the Z62 and trumps the Z67 then. The other new kid on the block for me was the BG80P which straight out of the clamps had a lovely pitch and feel and went on to prove that we should never say never to most things. I have not had a good experience with the BG80 previously and had quickly replaced the 2-3 that I had tried before with the Z62 and BG66UM. The new BG80P sounded interesting in other reviews albeit with a seemingly divided audience. In truth it is a turn-around for me and I love its repulsion and feedback. It sounds as wonderful and earnest and full of zest as the Zymaxes and it's lovely orange beckons you unfailingly. Yonex must have devoted a lot of time in the bedroom crafting it to be a viagra to badminton players! Conclusion: We're really spoiled for choice here as all the above strings are top quality stuff. The new Z65 is a worthy addition to the ZM range and to the pool of 0.65mm gauge strings.
