Majulah Malaysia!! Malaysia Boleh!! I'm not a Malaysian, and I don't know many Malay terms.. but oh well, congrats!
well....this independence day seems to be pretty quiet....overshadowed by the current political situation....less flags than the yrs before where u can see kids mounting flags on their bikes and ppl putting small flags on their cars or big flags across the bonnet...so far...very little ppl have done this this yr....
wah...u know...if bujet 2009 say buy national flags count in tax thingy(dont know what term to use,i mean goverment pay back a rm 100 for each flag after the taxer pays)...sure......all malaysian will buy many of this(next year...)
NEGARAKU TANAH TUMPAHNYA DARAH KU RAKYAT HIDUP BERSATU DAN MAJU RAHMAT BAHAGIA TUHAN KURNIAKAN RAJA KITA SELAMAT BERTAKHTA RAHMAT BAHAGIA TUHAN KURNIAKAN RAJA KITA SELAMAT BERTAKHTA MERDEKA!!
It's free gift from gov in the past years. Coz this year gov said want to not simply wasting money, then they stop delivering the flags to the people. Because of economic slow down, the company didnt afford to buy flags? We know what's going on.
good excuse....... this year a bit quiet mostly due to economy hiccup that due to petrol sudden high increase. also a bit from politics hiccup. mainly due to many of us pay more attention to Beijing Olympic 2008. whatever it is, happy independence day to all Malaysian!!!!!!!
Such a nice poem, Dato. You made it yourself? How sweet. I see you love your country and The King so much.
Actually this song and melody, the Malaysian national anthem, has a very long history, being French in origin. It then travelled from its birth place, the island of Mahe in the Seychelles where the song and melody was composed by Frenchman Pierre Jean de Beranger, to an Indonesian Opera group as well becoming the state anthem of Perak before Merdeka. It also became a lovely well known love song known as "Terang Bulan" (Bright Moon) in Malaysia. During the Indonesian "Confrontation" with Malaysia when Malaysia came into being, there was a story that went around that Tungku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia's first Prime Minister, chose this anthem to get one back at Soekarno by using this famous Indonesian melody. The truth is that it did not originate from Indonesia but from a Frenhman.
OMG, but we'll never blame you on that. That's our National Anthem. No matter where it came from, composed by whom, or whatever, it is still our nation, Malaysia's National Anthem.
