I happen to have red laces from my old Yonex Ultima 100 LTD. :) But yes the 8600d really comes in white laces :)

The 8600 is an improvement for sure. Have you seen the limited version in all red? It looks hot. How much did you pay for your 8600? (In USD if possible). Thanks.

Just got me a new Yonex SHB 72 Silver and Orange color. Such a simple shoe without any gimmicks (lateral claw, rippled insole) which I actually prefer. I like my feet to be very low to the ground, the higher/thicker the insole & outsole, the easier you twist your ankle. You hardly ever get sprained ankle running barefoot ;) and I do play at carpeted floor so extra cushion will only actually adding more stress to the knee, in my opinion.

In pictures, the 8600ace (the red one you're talking about), looks quite striking. But honestly, in person, it looks like a Transformer has grown on your foot. It looks bigger than an equally sized 8600 in any other color. So if you have skinny legs, and if you're not that tall, then it would just look awkward on you. Actually, in a recent tourney I watched, a tall girl of chubby build had one and it still looked quite awkward. So IMHO, other colors are a better choice. But of course, it's still up to you, and if you want it, check it out in person :)

I got it for approximately 90 USD (Php 4,500), because I know of a friend who gets them cheap. It hasn't been released in our country yet, and I'm expecting a late 2010 or early 2011 release at a price of around 140-150 USD (Php 7,000-7,500) in our local retail stores. From what I've read, that's also the going price for other countries.

Well there goes another shoes for me Yonex SHB 100L...sort of. so ive used these for a good 8-9 months about id say, im pretty sure thats when i started using them haha. theres actually nothing wrong with the shoe itself like grip or anything its more so the shoe lace hole on the left shoe outter side. i like to tie my shoes tight but i havnt had this happen before the shoe lace just ripped through the shoe so now illeither just make a new hole for the shoe lace or might just use another pair of shoes.

World Champ ->Ultima Pro -> SHB

In Msia World Champ is RM20 - 30 cheaper than Ultima Pro. SHB is RM200 more expensive than Ultima Pro.

U should buy the same design & color for both shoes. Couple matching like Valentine T-Shirt or Mix Double pair.;)

Not the lightest but stable as hell. Bought it yesterday with an incredible 44% off.
This shoe feels top, I really look forward to trying it out and setting the court on fire.

Yes they sell on ebay and amazon at reasonable prices. Beware of high shipping fees, tough.^^
Sports onlineshops in your country might have them aswell.
Sometimes they go as indoor court shoes, sometimes as handball shoes.
Compared to others they are rather narrow and feel very tight, therefore are - as I posted before - very very stable.
(Maximum stability might not be everybodys gusto, so I recommend you try them on first somewhere.)
New colours will come fall 2010.

but if they're heavy then that would decrease your maneuverability

True, yes. but I don't think it will have a huge effect.
I'm gladly willing to trade some grams for better stability, because I recently had some trouble with my ankle joint, due to lateral strain.
    But I agree in principle.

I collected some info, unfortunately I can't weigh them myself. (sizes may vary between manufacturers.)

    Adidas Stabil S: 340g
    Asics Gel Blade2: 345g
Asics Gel Tactic: 318g (my previous shoe)
    Ascics Gel Domain: 308g
    Yonex SHB100MX: 320g (size 27cm)

I think my legs can take that ;-)

Also dug up an prehistorical statement from kwun, answering if weight is a major factor:

Maybe for the next ones, I'll buy some tramping-boots :-D
