2 more chances for Malaysia to get a medal, through Choong Yee Han and Chow Mei Kuan/Lee Meng Yean. Soo Teck Zhi will lose to Kento.

If Malaysia fails to get a medal, it will be a huge embarassment.

the only realistic chance was from chow/lee.
most of the squad member is 17 years old.
but then chow/lee wasn't the strongest, they need to adopt correct tactic and game plan

it is bad for badminton. no representative from other than Asia and Europe. I think most Asian country need to send their coach all over the world.

Panji Akbar Sudrajat has shown that his results at the AJC were no flukes. Once again, he reaches QF and has a good chance to reach SF for yet another Bronze Medal.

Hanna Ramadhini also has an encouraging result in beating Qian Jingjing. She has a chance of winning a Bronze Medal too against Akane Yamaguchi. She still has another chance next year.

The most painful defeats are the 2 BDs...especially Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Rafiddias Akhdan Nugroho. They were leading in the first and third-sets, only to lose them in tragic manner. Hopefully, they learn a lesson today that nothing is to be taken for granted. They will also have another chance next year. Hafiz Faisal/Putra Eka Rhoma also suffered agonizing defeat to the unseeded CHN pair. It's now left to Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama to salvage INA's pride in BD.

As for GD, it's kinda expected that Anggia Shitta Awanda/Shella Devi Aulia will not go far as I wrote earlier. Maretha Dea Giovani/Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istirani also reached their limit (R16) before losing to the CHN pair. Let's see if Melati Daeva Oktaviani/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari can beat Chow Mei Kuan/Lee Meng Yean to win a Bronze Medal.

In XD, only Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Maretha Dea Giovani lost as expected. The other 3 pairs advance to QF. However, stronger opponents await all the 3 pairs tomorrow and all could end up losing although I hope at least 1 pair will make it to the SF. Alfian Eko Prasetya/Shella Devi Aulia in particular impressed today as they beat two strong pairs. Edi Subaktiar/Melati Daeva Oktaviani were also untroubled in both matches they played in today as both finished in less than 20 mins. Putra Eka Rhoma/Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istirani somewhat made up for their loss in BD and GD to beat the higher-seeded pair of Tan Wee Gleen/Chow Mei Kuan in three-sets.

Looking at the positive side, it may be a good blessing for Malaysia Juniors.. Look at our past WJC champions , what happen when they entered senior level now ? Either they lost in the qualification rounds or 1st rounds ....When they enjoy great success at junior level, they just can't perform at senior level... :D

    BS QF
Hsu Jui Ting vs Panji Akbar Sudrajat [9/16] - I hope Panji can deliver yet another Bronze Medal. It will be an excellent achievement for the under-rated player.

    GS QF
    Akane Yamaguchi
[9/16] vs Hanna Ramadhini [9/16] - the home player has a slight edge but I hope for Hanna to also progress.

    BD QF
Wang Yilu/Liu Yuchen vs Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama [2] - anything less than a Final appearance will be deemed a failure for Edi/Arya, especially since they have a good draw all the way to the Final.

    GD QF
Melati Daeva Oktaviani/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari [5/8] vs Chow Mei Kuan/Lee Meng Yean [3/4] - Melati/Rosyita fulfill their seeding. They have a chance against the MAS pair.

    XD QF
    Choi Sol Kyu/Chae Yoo Jung
[1] vs Alfian Eko Prasetya/Shella Devi Aulia [9/16] - this will be a daunting match for Alfian/Shella. The KOR pair has an edge.

Putra Eka Rhoma/Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istirani [9/16] vs Liu Yuchen/Chen Qingchen [3/4] - I also don't think the INA pair can prevail.

Jung Jae Wook/Shin Seung Chan [5/8] vs Edi Subaktiar/Melati Daeva Oktaviani [2] - this is the expected match-up and I am hoping for Edi/Melati to deliver at least a Bronze Medal in XD.
