I think he was referring more to KKK/TBH.....

Don't see why they shouldn't celebrate though? They beat arguably the 2 top pairs in the world and their biggest MAS competitor, and looks pretty impressive doing it.

    This is only my opinion...

These KKK/TBH critics aren't impressed with their victory because they suspect players competing in SS final didn't give their 100% and simply playing for senang-senang and fulus only.
This makes sense, considering hefty sum of prize money and the fact that this tournament provided no ranking points.

Maybe they'll be convinced if they won in real big events, say, AE, WC, or ... OG.;)

What is their ranking in BWF? Did JJS/LYD or MK/HS lost to a pair that is in 76th place or maybe, some camplang pair/ cap ayam pair? Does both pairs often go home in the earlier stage/ first stage?

i totally agree with u daneilwong...;)
we must alwayz support our players whenever they win nor lost...
yup myb they didnt at their top form yet but at least they shown positive progress n we should inspires them more not keep bashing them...
    no use to bashing them...
to beat jjs/lyd in js straight set n mk/hs in the same tournament will give them more confident to do more better for the next tournament...
so we should encourage them not bashing them..

Worse, MK/HS lost to a gado-gado pair of 1 MD + 1 XD specialist in Kejurnas, and was strech to the limit to a MAS pair who's not even in the national squad @ HK open (before MK sustained the injury ).
IIRC, the so-called 76th place pair also beat China's #1 MD and put up a good fight to MK/HS.....

Bottom line....did you see us panicking and start chewing MK/HS over it? :p

    The bottomline is:
No matter how well Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong have done, only an Olympic Gold or World Championships Title will probably silence their critics.

Until then, there is no need for further debate or new threads abt this pair ;)

The SS Masters Final obviously isnt rated very highly or else China, a badminton powerhouse wont pull out all their shuttlers. You dont see China pulling out all their shuttlers for the Olympics, WC or AE, right? As such, in view of China's absence. the SS Masters Final obviously lost a significant amount of its value.

As for WMC and her effort, please be noted that I have always acknowledeged her initiatives BUT sadly, this is a professional sport we are talking about. At the end of the day, shuttlers are judged based on titles won.

Until They able to win the BIG one such as WC; OG etc; otherwise they perfomance will not be satisfied by many.
Can't make comparison with JJS/LYD or MK/HS; they havent even reached the same stage of consistency.
They should take the critics/bash on them as a challenge & move on to achieve greater height in their career . IF they choose to sit back & relax after this unexpected SSF win, then that's it !

Yes, yes LYD/JJS, MK/HS & CY/FHF lost to this and that and etc etc. BUT, lets line them all up i.e. LYD/JJS, MK/HS, CY/FHF & KKK/TBH and compare the titles won todate. Who has won the big titles??

In another light, I think Manchester United have got beaten by Southampton before but where is MU and Southampton today?? ;)

Like it or not thats what pro sports is all about. You win the big ones. In tennis, its the Wimbledon, US, Aussie, French Opens. Not the Hollywood Open. In football, its the world cup at international stage and the CL, PL, Primera Liga, Scudetto, etc at club level. Not the Ali Baba Challenge Cup.

Bash them if they lose as you wish but also congratulates them when they're back to the winner's podium. Unlike some here who can only bash, bash and bash some more, and/or finding excuses to ridicule/demerits it.
