I use a 10% pre-stretch and Speed 3 as it's faster. I don't think it makes much difference on the speed.
I'll have to wait till I get it in to see how much difference in speed there is but speed 3 doesn't damage the string? snapping a set mid-stringing wouldn't be good
Has anybody tried the optional diabolo drum for the 2086? My tennis experience suggests that diabolos make a real difference when using gut, and I'm wondering how well it works with badminton.

Ahh, I see... I guess I ordered it a month to soon However, having strung about a 50-100 frames with it, I have yet to see a string getting damaged by the gripper. Without any customisation, the gripper doesn't slip either, and I string up to 13kg/29lbs (given, with a 0.70mm string)
what machine did you have with this Wise 2086 ? I'm planning to have it this year as well for modifying my Eagnas Combo-912. @Dink, why you cut your machine's turn-table ? is there any problem if leave it as default ?
If you are absolutely certain you only want to string badminton frames then the extra on the stanchion track is not needed (and it can hit the crank head when you spin the turn table, as it ALWAYS does with me). Cutting it lets the crank head move a lot closer to the turntable, but you can kiss doing tennis and squash rackets goodbye.
My Wise 2086 came in the post today.. I was like a kid at Christmas again! I've yet to restring a racket yet though - tried using a grip and cardboard and with neither can I get the gripper to hold a BG80 string!
Use a replacement grip (thicker) and make sure to adjust the gripping screw to the maximum (I actually removed it).
I made the screw as tight as I could.. should I try just taking it out? I used a replacement grip too. I'll take the screw out and if it still doesnt work, i'll take a picture.
Then you need to use a thicker replacement grip. I can grip 0.63mm string with no problems. Removing or tightening the screw to the max yields the same results. I just removed it because it's one less thing to worry about.
I feel like a bit of a wally, lol - I had the head the wrong way round! Anyway it's gripping now, but I can only get it to tension upto 23lbs. Must be because I have the head way too far away from the stringing machine. The bracket doesnt fit my XP Pro Plus, so I hammed it in but could only make it go half an inch.
I did try mouting it closer to the turntable but it won't slide on because the bracket is too big. I tried filing it down a bit but didn't work. I may have to look into welding it on. Nothing happened to the side supports, I just mouted the racket on quickly just to test it.
Mwesty, slide that badboy on closer to the rotating table. If youre using a reel, you'll end up using less string, and besides that, you'll have a much more accurate string job.
It doesn't fit on the machine, it won't slide. I had to hammer it just to get it to go on an inch! Tried filing it down as well. May have to try and get someone to weld it onto the machine further up.
