Yep, no modifying necessary. It was a seamless, unmodified transition.

However, if I couldn't get 360 degrees clearance, I would definitely modify it.

I want to make it closer to the turntable but it won't slide on :( I had to hammer it on just to make it go an inch.

how about everyone give measurement of the mounting bar? obviously right now that either Mwesty's mounting bar is too big, or the wise mounting hole is too small. one of them is not standard.

did you measure the thickness of tension-bar ?
info from Robin of Watdon, by default the bracket is for 6mm/7mm thickness, so if more then you should inform him before purchase so they can prepare the correct bracket.

actually stringing machine owner should inform to seller (but I no idea if from Herb Wise directly), but information I got from Robin of Watdon, by default the bracket is for 6mm/7mm thickness, so if more thicker then you should inform him before purchase so they can prepare the correct bracket.

my Eagnas Combo-910 has 7mm thickness.

and since Mwesty is in UK, and maybe get the Wise from watdon, please contact the seller again to get the correct bracket ....

because dink's string bed is above gripper head;)

for my machine, distance from racket bast to top of cantilever is 22 cm, +/- 1mm

I bought the machine from Gefen Sports because Watdon didn't have any in stock. He said that the Wise would fit machines that were 115mm but the Pro's Pro was 118mm and that I would need to weld it off or grind it. I still decided to get it because I thought a filer would do the job! It did, to some extend but I only ended up getting maybe a mm off. I hammered it in as far as I could (Roughly 2 inches) and used No Nailes to glue it on :D It's steady now, have to wait 24hrs to test it! Posted some more pictures below, excuse the quality and the socks ! They're keeping it in place while the No Nails sets.

yeah, watdon's stock have to wait until end of April 2009.
luckily I bought mine at watdon, and they asked me to measure the tension-head-bar before they sent off the machine.
my tension-head-bar is 7mm thickness and 49mm width (my machine is Eagnas Combo-912).
You may try to contact watdon for suggestion.

The no nails didnt work at all - the machine ended up coming off on the very first tension. Really running out of ideas now, don't know what to do.

mwesty, you will have to make a custom mount for the wise 2086. If its not set properly, you can figure your rackets and string jobs will suffer the consequences of a inconsistent job. I dont have a wise, but from what it seems the mount that attaches to your crank bar, is adjustable and more importantly removable. If im wrong here, ignore the rest. You need to make a mount that will be C-shaped that will fit your machine and you will need to be able to add on a screw to tension it to the bar. If you have any friends that are machinist this should be a breeze for them. The other thing, contact Herb Wise. He may have come across this situation before and mite be able to help you out.

what illusionispro said is totally right. actually the problem is very simple.
if the bracket can not enter the crank-bar smoothly and close to turntable, then buy small diamond-files (or something similar) at the hardware shop for trimming the bracket. it is needed patient to trim the hard metal as like the bracket.
(I saw there was a file at the picture just under the Wise)

for those who owns a WISE... can you tell me:

    1. is the mounting clamp at the bottom of the machine (the c-shaped one that mounts the WISE to the stringing machine's horizontal bar) removable?

    2. if yes:

    - what does the bottom of the WISE mainbody looks like when the clamp is removed?
    - what is the distance from the bottom of the WISE to the top of the string gripper?

Kwun, are you planning to put the wise tension head on the Shuttle express? I have been told that as it is the wise tension head is too high for the shuttle express and that some engineering would be required to overcome this problem. I would be interested in what you figure out.
