If anyone likes to learn korean, I'm happy to let you know a little. A set of Korean letters is very simple to learn. (It's created in about 15th C.) Basically, Koreans write and say "a syllable" in a single compound letter like: (there are two ways.) 1. consonant + vowel 2. consonant + vowel + consonant You should pronounce each syllable at a time. Examples: Lee Chong Wei: 리 총 웨이 리 = ㄹ(L) ㅣ(ee) 총 = ㅊ(Ch) ㅗ(o) ㅇ(ng) 웨 = ㅇ ㅜㅔ 이 = ㅇ ㅣ And this would be an answer to koo_fan's question: * The official writing of "종" in english has been changed a few times in history according to the arguments of linguistists about what would be the correct match between "ㅈ" and english sound: Chong --> Jong --> Chong --> Jong Now officially we write it as "Jong" but they can still use "Chong" if they want to keep using it.
The consonant "o" is used in two ways: 1. if it's put in the first of a syllable, it's not pronounced 2. if it's put in the end(on the bottom), it's pronounced like "ng" in english (like "ng" in Chong) Lee : 이 = ㅇ ㅣ (L is not pronounced, just being used conventionally) Yong : 용 = ㅇ ㅛ(Yo) ㅇ(ng) Dae : 대 = ㄷ ㅐ(ae) And as you might know, many korean syllables have matching chinese letters like: 이 (李) 용 (龍) 대 (大) Of course, they have meanings just as the chinese letters have. 용대 = Big Dragon or Dragon, the Big
Thanks, Narnia, that should be a big help. I shall move on to my second lesson after this. ON TOPIC again - Yes, Lee Yong DAe rocks, people!
look at post*1836[/QUOTE] Today, I saw the video of 2009 Inida Open MD SF: CTF/LWW vs. CW/JR At 2008 AE SF, the MAS uncles surprisingly lost to LYD/JJS even though leading 20-16 in the rubber set. IMO, the critical reason for their loss was that they kept their rackets downward, seldom raising their rackets to be prepared while LYD always dominating the net keeping his racket UP. However, now CTF/LWW have changed. In India Open, they kept their rackets UP dominating the front when playing against INA; and even I was surprised they were playing just as LYD did against them! They're in very good form. All the best to the MAS giants!

Maybe Narnia or event cn help Us ^_^ here is the pict Oohh Love the Mix Pict So cute in every angle .. haha ... Cute Cute Btw what is Cute in Korea??
Actually, you're both partly correct. Every Korean adjective is really a verb, so you don't need a copula verb like in English. Hence, the "is cute" part in The baby is cute, corresponds to a verb in Korean. This means that YeLLoWind is correct only if you are using cute before a noun, as in a cute baby (귀여운 아기). If you are trying to make a sentence like The baby is cute, it will look almost like what Syaoran_Style suggested but there was a syllable missing so it would be 아기가 귀여워요. Having said that, I'm not so sure that 귀여워요 is used for young adults to the same degree in Korean as "cute" is in English. Narnia could say better. I do know that the word most often translated as "handsome" - 멋진다 or 멋있다 - isn't reserved for mature-looking men as "handsome" is in English. For young women, it seems to be popular to use the borrowed English expression "cutie" morphed into an adjective but no one on the web uses it to refer to Lee Yong Dae so maybe it isn't used for "cute" boys. To get back to topic, though, Googling either 귀여운 이용대 (cute Lee Yong Dae) or 멋진이용대 ("handsome" Lee Yong Dae) yields nearly the same (albeit small) number of hits.
