very good review. I couldn't agree more specially with the bit on making the smashes "go down easier with less effort.". Would you have given this racket this racket a higher score vs the MX-60? IMHO, while MX-60 is very good, the MX-JJS is even better.
Since it is discontinued, contemplating to get a second piece...unless mx90 turns out to be similar or replacement for JJS... Any idea Paul if MX90 is a direct replacement?
Has anyone compared MX70 with this? What's the difference in bp, stiffness, play, feel, etc? I have an MX70 and just wondering.
let me share as I've tried both. (both in 4U). They play quite different IMHO. The JJS feels more solid and a tad head heavier. I feel some vibration from the MX-70, almost none from MX-JJS. All of my friends who've tried these racket agree that the JJS is a better racket.
[double post] [MENTION=57143]visor[/MENTION]... I highly recommend trying it out. I haven't tried as many rackets as you but Ive tried a few prominent ones (YY arc 7, 10, 8DX, TI-10, Victor SW35, MX-60, MX-70, MX-JJS, BS-12, RKEP PR0 6K, PRO 9K). MX-JJS is quite special.
I have tested MX70 and London but they are not as good as JJS. Sadly it's hard to compare because i test so many rackets and a fair comparison can only be done if I have the rackets at the same time. However, I consider there is a gulf between JJS and MMX London or MX70. Having used both of these they simply do not possess the solid feeling and power of JJS. I've been reading your racket reviews for quite a while and I must say, excellent review on the JJS! I've had this racket for a year now and my thoughts are the same. Its measured specs put it at head-heavy...yet it feels just as fast and maneuverable as my MX80. It somehow even manages to feel more solid and produces harder smashes with much less effort. It's a very special racket in the victor lineup and my favourite by far! I do however, feel that it is a pretty stiff racket (less stiff than MX80) when you stated that it felt more medium stiff.
[MENTION=56937]quixilver[/MENTION] I too have tried the MX70 and the London and in my opinion, they are nowhere near as good as the JJS. In fact, the London I tried out was awful. It didn't feel like a Meteor racket at all. It lacked that crisp feeling you get with meteors. It was like playing with a wooden log; I could not get any power out of it and it felt numb. Onto the MX70, it's a much better racket that the London but not as good as the JJS. It just feels...off. Like the London, it feels a bit numb and it also has this weird slight vibration to it. It's not much of a precision racket but it's decent with smashing. I do however stress that these are my personal opinions. Everyone's different. For example, my buddy has a MX70 and he loves it which shocks me to say the least!
Just received my JJS and had three good sessions to get use to the racket.. I had always used YY 900P (will always be one of the best racket in history). Anyway, I never thought I will purchase a victor racket but just wanted to try, since I have heard good reviews..especially SW35. Going back to JJS, I have to say...i love the racket. I find it so easy to control the drive, clear, net and drop.. I was caught off guard.. the most surprising is the smash.. I was really enjoying it.. I can control different shuttle steepness.. its amazing.. unfortunately, this is only limited edition. So back to the drawing board to find a replacement. .
I'm considering between 3u mx jjs and vt80, in term of smash, quick, etc, kindly help to share on capability of the racquets.tq.
It really depends. When I had my 3U, side by side it felt heavier than my 3U Vt-80. I have a 4U now and it doesn't really feel light either!
