I saw him played well against yoyo. Still need to improve 20-30% to reach top 10. He can make it if he trains hard and focus on his opponents before each game. ;)

Quite a few rushing mistakes pushing outside or got intercepted. Just lift it high. No point rushing as everyone's fitness is similar. Just have to grind it out. Is he reading this? ;) His cross smash is ala lcw, impressive. ;)

Finishing not good enough. Had early leads against TH like 6-1 and 11-6. Led 18-17 in the rubber against Taufik but lost the last 4 points.

But I am reasonably happy with his rubber game against TH, although I felt that he could have won it looking at the live score :( Wonder if others are feeling that 'so close yet so far' feeling too :p

Many thought he would never come close to TH I guess..

If this thread wasn't opened, I would have opened after his close fight against Taufik. If Hafiz can get his own thread, why not Liew Daren?

I think he must keep his focus, especially towards the end of the game. With the right mentality and consistency, he can be in top 30 bracket at the very least. BAM must keep exposing him.

Next time may be as soon as next week! But he has to get past Yunus Alamsyah first, who has shown much more consistent performances than him  Head-to-head record is 1-0 in favour of Liew Daren, hopefully he can keep it up...

Low target because whoever qualifies will meet Taufik... and Taufik in front of his home crowd is very deadly indeed.

    Just my observation.

M'sian Ms have always been late boomers.

CHN MS will suddenly accelerate in develoment after 19. Maybe because they push their juniors hard in training so by the time they hit 21 they become top players and very consistent. But after they hit 25 or 26 or so the same training regiment will result in more injuries and their performance drop. SJ, Ji XP, Dong J, XXZ , BCL and now may be CJ are prime example of this. LD is the exception.

M'sians tend to have a late charge. Rashid reach top flight at 23-24 then went down before coming back up at 28-29. Foo K K was not feared by anyone before 25, then as soon as Misbun retired he became someone top players do not want to meet. He was Zhao J H nemesis.

one can say about Ong E H after 24 where he could hold his own against top players until he was 29 but his was not championship material.

Wong C H best years was when he was 24-26. Now LCW had maintained his position at the top for almost 5 years either as No.1 or No. 2 after he was 24.

So if Daren keeps it up, he may still blossom after he gets past 25 which 12 to 24 months time.
