He is very strong physically right now..you need more than just skills to push him at the deeper end..

If he fails to reach the SF in Olympics, I would call him useless. He will never replace Bao Chunlai.

Boonsak in the first round, that's pretty tricky first round for CL. Would of been great if he got Kevin Cordon though!

Boonsak Ponsana is not to be sniffed at.
His win of the Li Ning Singapore Open 2012 MS title on 24/6/2012 over WZM in straight games shows he has peaked and he could spring another surprise on another Chinese player.

Your statement is correct. Our Thai Boonsak is very skillful but only his body strength that is weak. He grabbed another Singapore open champion one time earlier and perhaps 2 runner up of this Singapore super series. He used to beat Lin Dan and Chen Hong of CHN before but long time ago. He can surprise every big CHN player but not INA player hahaha.

I end here with my blessing to him Boonsak as he is a very good guy.

A clash between Chen Long vs Boonsak Ponsana is indeed a very very tricky match that CBA & CL has to face with. CBA do not want CL to repeat the same mistake where he lost to our beloved Guatemala No.1 MS Kevin Cordon at 2011WC unexpectedly. Furthermore, LYB expectation for Ideal Final of MS Olympic 2012 will be put into a shadow at this stage.
We would expect a world class match delivered by CL & BP who has recently claimed SO title which is awesome.

As soon as I saw the draw, this was the first bracket I thought "upset" right away! So maybe he can follow the tradition of losing the first round and then go on later the win the Gold like LD!

Chen Long has learnt lesson at last year world championship. I will be very surprise if he lost Bosanna in the first round. If he want to be coined as the future king of men single. He should beat everybody apart from Lin Dan. I anticipate a heavy weight semifinal between LCW and Chen Long.

With LCW's ankle problem, I don't think he would make it to the Semi-Finals (although I hope that he would).

I believe that Lin Dan will win GOLD again at this 2012 London Olympics.

Another first round exit from him, CBA should look for another replacement.

Two early round exits in a row of major tournaments give a strong indication he is just like Jiang Yanjiao; a player who cannot deliver when it matters.

In this yr's OG, Chen Long's inexperience and youth will be tested and shown on one the biggest badminton stages..IMO, reaching the Semis will be quite an achievement, considering this is his first OG..

The thing is he is playing in the same venue with a different tournament.

He should not fumble again...otherwise I am totally speechless. His draw is freaking easy..

I misjudged him, he's playing so tactically astute and purposeful. Very much looking forward to see his match against LCW. Still not a fan though!

He lost first round in last year's WC. So he'll get a medal. But may not be Gold.

My gut feeling tells me Chen Long's time has come, finally. Any time now, he'll make his big move to the top in the same league as Lin Dan and Lee CW for good.

In a Chinese badminton online magazine, many questions were posed to Chen Long, this one should interest many of us, namely(my translation),

'Who is your favourite badminton player? And why?' (asked by YuQi_Yap)

Chen Long's reply: " I like Lin Dan and Taufik Hidayat very much. I admire Brother Dan for his on court imperiousness (air of superiority), his indomitable (unconquerable) spirit, which I can sense even during normal training, worthy of my learning(worth my emulating). As for Taufik,I am fond of his playing style, meticulous, very good wrist-work ,full of ingenuity."

The original follows:
请问你最喜欢哪位羽毛球运动员?为什么?(YuQi_Yap)

[ I'm reminded of the following exchange by Wang Shixian during a TV interview conducted after she had won the Asian Games 2010 ,viz.,
Interviewer: Every sportsperson has an idol or someone he looks up to, how about you?
WSX: I like Taufik Hidayat because at his prime he gave me an impression that he enjoyed his game very much and I find it very comfortable watching him play.]

Is Chen Long still improving or has he already peaked? Other than Lin Dan, Chen Long is the only person who can score wins over Lee Chong Wei. But he seemed to have more success against LCW in 2011 than in 2012.

So is Chen Long still improving or is he backsliding now? Has he peaked or is he still getting better?
