After watching the recently concluded IO, I have to say without reservation, LYD is CURRENTLY the man. Not that he was never close to the top but the way he read the game, his uncanny reflexes and shuttle control plants him firmly on top. It was an absolute treat to watch.:)

I agree.... Lee has a clear advantage on reflex- he's lightning fast, his strategies definitely works, though I think Cai Yun sets up for Fu Haifeng better. Cai has the brilliant ball placement- simply agressive and accurate.

Hendra Setiawan and KKK are competitors on this category too. Really can't wait any longer to watch their action on the WC!

    ^^After all..^^

..LYD, as some would say, is a dominant player from, arguably, the most, current dominant MD pair..;)

LYD good to put the shuttlecock infront of net
amd his jump smash also accurate ...
and Cai yun can makes the shuttlecock become hard for their enemy , so their enemy make the shuttlecock become very easy to smash with Fu Hai Feng with Killer smash
    hahhaa
Hendra I think good become a frontman ...
he can make a point ,,,

KKK can change the tempo of the game by simply controlling the net. he defends well by returning smashes with deep dropshots either straight or crosscourt. he is also effective doing counterdrops which enable the opponents to eventually lift the shuttlecock seting up TBH for a good smash.

I don't understand why so many praise KKK when he has only so few major titles under his belt. Let alone we are talking about THE BEST here, very good isn't good enough.

CY and Setiawen has much more to show and even LYD is arguably more achieved. And heck he gets nearly twice as much vote than Setiawen and LYD??

    This man is overrated.

KKK has flair at the net. I can't remember exactly how many times I've been left jaws agape seeing him perform his magic at the net.
Not consistently, thats true, which might explain why so few titles.
But when he succeeds, it's unbelievable.

Sadly, leaving your jaws agape is not enough to be "the best". He will not be remembered without any great achievement, calling him the best is a joke.

I remember Hafiz aka Yoyo was once at the of the world with his fancy move....

Do you agree that other people's opinion of you doesn't have to become your reality?

I'm not so sure about Setiawan (focus too much on Kido in action) but between Caiyun, LYD and Tony, Tony is my personal favourite. At his prime, he is such a playmaker and totally dominates at the net. His choice of shots and placement is usually without much flair but extremely effective. It's scary how you can almost just pair him up with any bomber to get a world beating pair.

LYD is already taking the world stage by storm at a young age. This boy, similar to Tony, is an excellent playmaker and reads the game very well although I wouldn't say he is a top net player. CY, while possessing excellent net skills, isn't that evident to be a playmaker. Tony possesses the lethal combination of both traits.
