I vaguely recall seeing WCH play mixed, but never seen him in doubles so no idea what he won. But HYH I believe has held top 20 rankings simultaneously in MS and XD (not completely sure about top20, maybe 30, but was seeded #2 in XD and #7 in MS at Dutch Open 2008) But a regular pro player playing all three disciplines on tour or even an (international) tournament??? Maybe before the 80's On club level though you can find some of the same players playing other disciplines.
Susi Susanti played WS,WD, XD before, but I think not all three in same tournament. Yeah, this was the 'olden' days.
Uncle WCH- 2006 Commonwealth, silver in MD. Also plays XD for mixed team http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badminton_at_the_2006_Commonwealth_Games#Mixed_Team
Funny that you provide it, that is what I remembered yeah but couldn't find it here where I was just looking before http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badminton_at_the_Commonwealth_Games But it is hardly worthy of mentioning since it is only an occasional thing and CWG isn't exactly the strongest event ... but they did beat ENG Blair/Clark in SF 21-12, 21-11. Might have seen a bit from the final but since no Brits, probably not shown on BBC so didn't remember.
Lool KKK is also Men's single pro when he was junior. But then last Thomas Cup qualification he got beaten up by Hayom so badly. He said during the interview that he was kinda lucky because he played single in training or else he will get 0 when he played Hayom. Looollll
A lot of pro players from HK play all 3 categories. Eg. Wang Chen is one of them. While everyone knows about her accomplishments in Singles, her play in doubles with Koon Wai Chee is the reason why HK won the 2003 Group 2 Sudirman Cup Champion, 2002 Uber Cup bronze Medal, and also the 2002 Asian Games Bronze Medal. Wang Chen has also played mixed with Albert us Susantro Njoto in a few tournaments. The one that I rember the most is in 2001, they paired up to beat Mike Beres/Robbyn Hermitage of Canada (speaking of Canada, Mike Beres and Denyse Julien also play all 3 categories in International tournaments) in the finals of the Group 3 of the Sudiruman Cup. Koon Wai Chee and Yohan Wiratama are also players from HK whom I can think of who play regularly in all 3 categories, eventhough in the later stage of their career, they stopped playing singles in International competition.
, but for arguments sake I'd say leave out the team events since they are only lined up for lack of better specialists. Of course if we take the question literally and make it "have they at one time or another played each of the disciplines" you can name quite a few more , even in the same tournament (particularly fresh out of juniors). But Denyse Julien definitely fits the bill for the (more) recent past as the true multi-eventer .
