Not yet, I've been very lazy about it. I bought it from Direct Badminton. They said it needs to be sent to Carlton.
Direct badminton were incredibly frustrating to send stuff for repair with last year when I wanted to get my VTE send to carlton for warranty because the frame snapped when I hit a clean backhand clear. No chips or anything on the racquet and still using string they sent it with but when I spoke to them, they told me not only would I have to pay to send it to direct sports, but also then the shipping to carlton and a handling fee to direct sports for sending it! Never sent it since it would have added up to over £50 at the time so it just sits on my wardrobe now. Still not as bad as central sports who hung up the first time I called about my broken MX80, then after agreeing to check it, received it, signed for it, then lost it and refused to replace it. Couldn't afford (or have time) to pursue a legal challenge so that was worse. Got to say though, direct sports pre-sales CS is very good and they do take time in helping you with your orders. Maybe I got them on a bad day? Almost tempted to try again now.
I don't remember the last time I heard of someone not affiliated with a sports shop managing to get in contact with them. I doubt I'll be much luckier.
It broke at one of the upper twist points then the other one gave up almost immediately due to the strings. I wanted to keep the strings on in order to support my claim but the racket head deformed so much that it was no longer fitting in the original delivery box.
Direct Sports has been pretty good for me (UK to AU in 4 days) but I haven't had to do a warranty claim which I just assume would be a nightmare anyway because of my location. Then again I've never done a warranty claim EVER for badminton stuff so....calculated risk I guess. Not that I have any options if I want Carlton stuff because you really can't get it here.
Had a string snap last night but didn't notice at first. When I got home I realised that the top centre grommets were missing! Does anyone know if they do replacements for these at all? I can't find anything online so far...
I was beginning to think I'd have to bodge it and use generic grommets as these are hard to find! First I contacted the product manager listed on the Carlton website and got no response. Next I found that racquetdepot.co.uk had Carlton grommets listed so I ordered a set. Unfortunately they contacted me saying that the Kinesis ones were unavailable so I was back to square one. Finally I emailed a few more people on the Carlton website and got a response from someone! They said that the grommets had to be ordered but they would be sending me a set in about a week, so fingers crossed!
