I hope so too... However it seems that Ahsan/Hendra has gotten the upper hand as early as the first serve..
HS/MA are intelligent attacking pair.. And when HS is good at the net, intercepting most of the flat replies, and thus setting up for the BIG smash from the back/center, they are almost unstoppable.. The problem for this pair is when MA is kept under pressure.. KKK/TBH are good in attacking/defending against most of the pairs, who keep the same formation (one person at the net, and the other smashing from the back) but the attack of this INDO pair is quite different, as both HS/MA likes to advance forward with each shot, and vary the angle on each of the attacking smash.. It's quite difficult to defend against this kind of an attack.. Very effective indeed.. Love to watch that..
The QF day was a day of hugh upsets. MD 1, WS 1, MS 2, XD 1, WD 3, XD 2 and WS 2 were all eliminated. KKK/TBH’s (S1) loss of form showed up again and they lost easily to MA/HS 21-18, 21-15. If they are not able to do well in a GP tournament, it is doubtful they can do better in a SS tournament. The solution is to break up the pairing and BAM must flex its muscles once and for all otherwise it will lose all its credibility. The tournament again shows that China is a power house in badminton and can produce future champions without fuss. Their unseeded MS, WS, WD and XD players powered their way to the SF beating MS 2, WS 1, XD 1, XD 4, MS 4 and WD 4 seeded players. What an achievement!
therefore KKK/TBH need to change their strategy such as KKK goes back court and TBH do front court...
Really surprising results today. Could actually be an "upset day" 1st seed in WS, MD and XD are out Chinese players displayed brilliant performance. Especially from young Xue Song who beat Taufik Hidayat yesterday and took out last year's finalist Tien Minh Nguyen Chinese WD pair of Dongping and Qingchen are almost unstoppable Their play is just as aggressive as Yu Yang and Du Jing. Not only do they look alike but their smash power is comparible Chinese XD also did very well, with both pairs advancing to the semi-finals tomorrow Above all, China's bottom tier team has proven they have the capability to threaten the world Tomorrow, we can expect the same kind of performance, if not more impressive
I still remember vividly that Jenna/Komala lost tamely the previous time they met this Thai pair Savitree/Sapsiree I dont get it, Ina wd seemed didnt find solution to break their jinx yet But against other pair they seem just fine I think md title is Hendra/Ahsan to lose.... Too bad Kido/Pia lost already, they are best bet to get xd crown
If China continues to send these batch of players regular to participate in tournaments, I believe very soon there will be many "China" players rank in the top 50. How many "newbiz" can beat Taufik, Kido/Pia, NTM, Simon Santoso, Chong Wei Feng, Jang Ye Na/Kim So Young, etc. . . These are "household names which many are familiar with. I guess only the China "production" machine can do that. Now lacking in China is MD dept.
My prediction for the titles would be MS : LCW WS : Sayaka Takahashi MD : Hendra/Ashan XD : Ye Na jung/Baek choel shin WD : Savaitri/Sapsiree
I would support your prediction, although I think there is a slight chance that China may win in WS, XD or WD. LCW is too strong from the way he beat Qiao Bin
hi fellas, SF already begin. still tight in both SF match. The performance of young CHN XD quite stable from round 1 to now..
but eventually they won it both china youngster pairs lost tightly in 3rd set. still lack of experience in tensed situation I guess. They are the Semifinalist in WJC last year, aren't they??
