I have both with very similar specs. And the major difference is the shaft stiffness... obviously. :)

Xp70 is easier to play with, easier to swing and generate power. But the max power ceiling is greater with the xp60, which is more demanding in generating power, but it is more accurate and more powerful overall.

So usually I pick xp60 whenI'm feeling strong and xp70 when I'm weaker.

Don't you lose power then? For me, the lowest I go is with the pinky just holding on, and as it's part of the gripping action pulling it off would make you lose power, wouldn't it? Anyhow, I believe to get the maximum out of your racket it should have specs that allow you to grip it at the very bottom on overheads - that way you get the best lever possible. I'll never understand some singles players who constantly grip it halfway up the grip (I think Anand Pawar, Tommy Sugiarto, Wong Wing Ki and even Peter Gade are guilty of that). You lose reach and lever compared to using a slightly less head heavy racket which you could grip at the bottom....ah well, it certainly seemed to work for Peter, didn't it? :D

^^ You're using towel grip right? I'm using rkep g09 grips that are super tacky, so perhaps that's why I can still hold on with a floating pinky. :)

I normally grip with the pinky before the buttcap hump. But last night I tried it like how you described it J4ckie, and I was able to get more power out of it. I switched back and forth and there was no doubt which grip gave me more power.

I tried playing with a floating pinky a while ago, it was a tad more powerful on overheads, but I was afraid I might fling my racket as I swung it aha!

Question: Is the XP70 stiffer than the LYD?

Hm, I'm in a sticky dilemma in regard rackets now... The cost works out to about the same for buying a XP70 (with Import VAT to EU) or a LYD locally. Hmm what to get, decisions decisions...

I concur with Visor on this!
The LYDN is sexier than the 1st Gen though.

Ah fair point, I hadn't considered that, although I don't tend to resell rackets; just store them in my cupboard for nostalgia, ahaha.
But yeah, the new generation does look better, not available yet from my normal retailer; so trying to decide whether to capitalise on the recently reduced cost of the LYD or not.

Hi, did you email rkep directly for prices? I manage to get 2 xp80 for slightly more than a lyd. Although that didn't include import duty.

He should be on his holiday atm; put my order in a few days before he was leaving ... Hope it get's delivered today, package left the country on the 29th.
I see it arrived in the country yesterday around noon, probably won't be delivered today then ...
(says arrival at incoming office and a minute later at customs inspection but not too sure that actually means anything)

See above ;) (maybe on the next/ tuesday delivery now 25.gif ). Not used to tracking that goes beyond leaving the seller's country ^^ [No EMS here either of course :D; the only thing that it get's you is a higher clearance fee of ~$23 and priority if you keep bugging them over and over and even then it usually takes more than 10 days for them to process it]

"Summer break" actually means something over here yes :p (although you can easily book a school gym or something from the City with one or two baddie courts for not too much)

Tried to find out current rates and availability and such but not readily available . Let's just say getting a squash court on a whim is a million times easier ...

Really, oh I assumed the prices were the ones on the eBay page; if that's not the case them silly me hehe. I can get a lyd for £100 with next day delivery from central sports or direct badminton; how much did you buy the two xp80s for, if you don't mind me asking?
