Actually, from my observation, Yoo was only assisting all the other coaches during the 6 months. Rosman was in charge of rookies(Nelson/Teo & gang), TKH the above 21 yr olds(GVS/LKW, Ah How/TWK,etc), Pang KKK/TBH and a few young pairs(Ow/Chooi, Yew HK/Jadgish). When Rosman was asked to take over WD, I suppose coach Yoo saw his chance. As for language prob, well, Yoo had an interpreter when he 1st came, dunno for how long. Then he had English tutor to teach him English. So, between broken English & sign language, dunno how much of the message got thru. Back up players are less important than those for OG, so, give him the youngsters lor, no harm they must have thought. No matter how slim everyone thinks KKK/TBH are for medal, they are the rep for MD. But all these would have been known before they hired Yoo, TKH himself cited language problem as the reason for leaving Korea for England(but he stayed 2 years lah). The coach who could speak malay & some English they didnt want, it's BAM's lost. Players suffer the most.
Did you consider that maybe it suited the BAM committee's agenda to turn down the salary increase and allow him to go? If his presence will not guarantee any improvement in performance and better percentage for a medal at the OG, why keep him around when the money could be well spent "elsewhere" ?
Maybe Yoo understands his role is not to coach given his language barrier and then turn around and ask for too much money, more money than NCC is willing to cough out, to be the 'fall' guy if KKK/TBH got KO in OLY12. Then Yoo-Yoo can take the fall and go back to KOR and not give a hoot to what malaysian thinks, after all money talks. And the rest of the stooges and BATA James can keep their jobs milking the ringgit until there is nothing left to gobble and say bye bye rich.

The Malaysian players capitalised on the absence of top stars from China, South Korea, Indonesia and Denmark to sweep four of the five titles through Lee Chong Wei, Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong, Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying and Chin Eei Hui-Wong Pei Tty. Malaysia had never won more than three Open titles in an international tournament before. In limbo: Malaysia’s Chin Eei Hui (left) and Wong Pei Tty won the women’s doubles title in the Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold but they have to keep their fingers crossed on getting entry into the Olympics by the back door. It will be back to the grind immediately for Chong Wei and Kien Keat-Boon Heong as they shift their focus to the Thomas Cup Finals in Wuhan from May 20-27. Olympic-bound Peng Soon-Liu Ying are taking a break to re-energise but veteran women’s doubles pair Eei Hui-Pei Tty will continue training hoping for a lucky break. They are the first reserves for the Olympics and will know their fate by June 29 if there have been any withdrawals. While the seniors did well to live up to expectations, junior pairs Chooi Kah Ming-Ow Yao Han and Nelson Heg Wei Keat-Teo Ee Yi showed plenty of promise. The 2009 world junior champions Kah Ming-Yao Han defeated two senior pairs before losing to Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong in the final while reigning world junior champions Wei Keat-Ee Yi gave former internationals Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif-Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari a hard time before bowing out in the last eight. According to national doubles chief coach Tan Kim Her, both these pairs are disciplined and committed and have immense potential. While Thailand unleased another new talent in 16-year-old Busanan Ongbumrungpan, who went on to win her first ever title, Malaysia’s women shuttlers continued to sink further into oblivion. Besides finding ways to produce more players like Wong Mew Choo, the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) also have their hands full finding a replacement for doubles coach Yoo Yong-sung of South Korea. Yong-sung resigned just a month after the departure of Rexy Mainaky, leaving the men’s doubles in disarray with just two coaches – Kim Her and Cheh Chang – to care for the 22 players. If only BAM had an excellent coaching programme they could have promoted one the 13 state coaches. Unfortunately, the states lack quality coaches because the national body have, by and large, neglected them. BAM are more focused on their own one-stop centre at the elite level at the expense of the states. Half the BAM problems could be solved if one of their four high performance directors were to look into the state programme.
