I hope LCW wins because I think he is the most committed player in the badminton circuit. For women, I think LXR is the clear favorite. For most Promising, I hope Intanon wins its.
While TTY has improved by leaps and bounds, Ratchanok has been the most consistent newcomer of all and she is certainly no flash in the pan. As for doubles, I'm surprised that the chinese L Xiaolong pair was not named. Maybe too new? I think they left out the recent All England WS winner too.
I think the China pair you mention didnt fulfill this requirement : "• Ranked among the top five in the world in the year of nomination"
Really glad to see Chung Jae Sung/Lee Young Dae in the running for Male Player of The Year category! They were my favourite MD pair But I think their chances of winning is slim, given the tough competition. Regardless of the results, IMO, their nomination is a form of acknowledgement of their achievements in badminton
this award for 2012 ratchanok doing well this year but not last year. last year TTY won 3 title in a row + youngest SS winner if title count,TTY will win this award if ranking count, ratchanok will win it.
How come don't have Song XUE from china in the junior list? Perhaps he lacks of exposure in international stage?
Looks your standard of choice are different for the 3 categories... If MS vote is based on degree of commitment, should go for Brice Leverdez who entered more than 20+ tournaments (compared with just 11 something by LCW), without strong sense of commitment, one will not bother to travel so much to join so many tournaments, and particularly on the basis that Brice did not win big money from doing so. If base on achievements, then I agree that LCW and LD will be the neck-to-neck sole candidates. For WS and most promising, I share your view.
The complete result => http://www.bwfbadminton.org/news_item.aspx?id=73931 The Women Player of The Year : Wang Yihan (CHN) The Male Player of The Year : Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng (CHN) The Most Promising Player of The Year : Kento Momota (JPN) Congrats to BWF award recipients
