Ok so my racket is the Arcsaber Z-Slash. I still have factory strings on it. When I re-string what tension and strings do you recommend?

I am a 14 year old intermediate/advanced badminton player. I am based in London

    Cheers.

Have you tried different tensions or strings before?
If so, go for your favourite string and tension.
If not, then it's all about trial and error to find your favourite anyway. Go for 24~25lbs if you are unsure, too high and you will cause yourself an injury, just build up to it.

Why don't you ask your coach?

    Hi Cloud7z,

i used to use Arc z. Love it. try 23 lbs and use yonex BG80.

you will like it. i am a stringer and have a customer, just like you. i recommended Yonex BG80 at 23 lbs.

After one game he came back to me and said WOW. What a difference. when he smashes he can feel the impact. BG80 is a hard feeling string.

    Regards
    Keng (Canada)

Right!! HAHA you're funny. At 28 pounds, the racquet has no flexibility to contract at the sweet spot and repell the shuttle. 28 lbs is NOT ideal for a 14 year old nor many adults.

Reason i said so is because, it will be good for the 14yr old to play and get used to the tension, or rather
stiff tension instead of taking advantage of the flexibility of the racket and string. He can definitely play at 20lbs. And if he state that he is an intermediate/advance player.. he can take 28lbs. If he is a beginner, i wouldn't want to recommend that tension. :)

    Comes factory strung.
Some places may choose to buy the frame and string it themselves but it's not worth it, so most shops will have it factory strung

Thanks for your help guys, I've decided to string BG66UM at 24lbs but still doesn't feel tight enough. I don't want to go above 24lbs so I can keep my warranty so I might try BG80 at 24lbs.

Your warranty lasts only lasts 6 months from the start of the date of purchase at the [Yonex dealer] anyway.

Once you've passed that period I doubt the distributor at your place will cater to your broken racquet claimant, even if you're strung within 24lbs. Truth is, if your racquet can last 6 months at the max warranted (i.e. not recommended) tension, then the racquet can definitely be strung way past that tension. 33lbs for a high end Yonex is nothing, easy as pie provided that your stringer is a good one.

Wow, thanks I never new that. I tried searching the Yonex UK website for warranty details but I couldn't find any. Where did you find out about this?
I bought my Z-Slash fairly recently so I may as well keep stringing within the recommended tension. But after that I will start stringing above. Thanks for your help.

I used zs with bg68 titanium at 27 lbs. I recommend this to u for your improvement.
    since u said u are 14 year old intermediate/advanced.
So for improvement that was my suggestion.
If u just want to play for win used 24/25 lbs using 0.66mm string.

I used Z slash previously , it is actually a thin frame. I think if anyone wants make rim shots but very rarely then only it is useful.
