ooo.. visual examples please... and if u don't have any images of your own, do use other ppl's images (with proper credits of course)
thos images are soo cool, you really did a great job on editing them to make the players stand out even more, and i like to effect of the unfocused background, its great!
i really really really like wong choong hann's picture. looks like a superhero of some sort. more so because of the contrast of his shirt's color with B&W surroundings.
Great shots lurker! Allow me to post mine taken during the same event. I was seated beside the competitors but do not have the photographer's pass for me to creep near the court for a better angle. Anyone has got the connections for this coming World Championship in KL?! Can be your assistant "porter"grapher.........
haha... sorry for being MIA will edit a few pics posted here for you guys later cheers! *can't wait for BWF*
woah, yeah mate, it's been almost 7 months since we last heard from you! we've been waiting a long time for pics!!!
Hi Lurker, Just want to commend your work. Really good stuff. Your editing is very clean and the concept gives a different character to the pictures. Hope you don't mind my asking, but did you use Photoshop for this?
Thanks maryanne yeah.. there is definitely post editing work done on the pictures this helps to bring the viewers focus on the shuttler only removing the distracting and often very colorful BG
I'm sure it's done with Photoshop, not hard to do. Basicly.. do this: 1) Duplicate layer 2) Ctrl+shift+U ( desaturate ) 3) Use the polygonial-lasso tool to carefully select the body of the player and press delete. -Or use the rubber tool to erase the black-and-white body. You'll then end up with those appealing images with black/white backgrounds.
Results: -This one works as an advertisement for Yonex.. basicly all the Yonex stuff are highlighted.
Of course, Reiko will be Reiko But, in the other picture, it looks as if the players have turned blue from poisoning
IMHO, the background shouldn't be made blurry, because it also ruins parts of the foreground if the selection isn't precise. Also, for the image of Peter Gade's jump smash, you could have erased the layer a little bit more carefully, because I can see some orange things kind of like 'glowing' around his body.. nice effort though.
Here are two images I photoshopped.. This one's a little bit crazy. And here's the simple one with the black/white background:
Nope, it's from the people on the background wearing orange shirts. The other ones however, are really nice, especially this one: Ah.. I have this habit of constructively-criticising other peoples' photoshop works from other forums..
i like the LCW picture with what looks like electrical charge/lightning surrounding him. hahahaha. very the comic book heroes.
Well, I thought it had been left in deliberately. No matter. Perhaps he didn't want to put too much time into it.
