Oh. tested out my 293/88 PUK.

    very interesting. very interesting indeed.

the shaft is indeed softer, but the head frame is stiff and solid. this really give the PUK is very unique feel to it. i cannot get my head around it right now. but it is a good feeling.

i was feeding some shuttles when coaching a beginner last night, the beginner was learning to do the overhead shot. i am simply feeding her clear very very high so she can have ample time to prepare and hit the shot. and it turned out to be just a flick of the wrist in order to do that. the stability is super.

game situation was completely different, somehow the racket transformed, not the fastest of racket i am afraid, but offensive was excellent. solid impact, but felt.. stiff, but not the usual type of stiffness. just different.

i need more time with it, but this is a completely brand new racket that is unlike anything that has come before it, none at all. so don't even ask for comparison. the big question is whether it is better or not. we will see with longer term testing. right now it is inconclusive.

it is kinda a heavy swingweight racket. so it'd be better for ppl who have preference for them.

I measured mine and it was pretty much identical my MX80 - same balance, but the UPK is 2 g lighter.

I was a bit dubious when Dink told me about the shaft change - I thought the "Ultra-ness" would be lost - but more and more it's looking like a stroke of genius; if this frame had been put on a 7.5 shaft... well, no human being could have used it.

Need help with specifications of Pro Ultra Kevlar.

What weight / balance and flex? As I said earlier, I am comfortable with Li Ning N90 and AT900P. I havent bothered to check the weight, balance point and flex before buying any racquet till date. This is the first time I am facing this situation!

The effortless clears, which kwun has described is something I am looking forward to. I am ready to compromise other aspects of my game for it.

Can you guys provide some pointers regarding the specifications, so that I can order mine?

    Thanks.

One session down, I'll have another one tomorrow afternoon with the UPK.

So far, the racquet feels good and also the string job done by Noah is solid, ZM65 @ 23x24 lbs.

this "different" feel is on point.

This is my personal review after just over a week of training with the UPK (20 hrs):

Just finished a weeks testing of my new racket, and so far its amazing, I like quite high tension (32-34 lbs) and its a joy not to have to worry about the frame breaking. The power you also talked about is just so true, and mine is a lot more head-heavy than Marks ;) I have always thought control was the same on every racket, but now I know that is not true. This thing just gives so much confidence to play even the most unbelievable shots, both defensive and ofensive. The defence for me is the only thing lagging a bit, but Im also coming from a very very aerodynamic racket (RKEP XP70), I think I need a bit more time to adjust. The feel on this is a bit special to start out with, but it is really growing on me now, I never wanna put it down I just wanna keep playing and playing.
