2009 Badminton Asia Championships: Can Chen Long defeat Bao Chunlai at the Final?

    .
winnie ... In about 5 hours' time, it is Chen Long -vs- Bao Chunlai
at the Mens Singles Final (at the 2009 Badminton Asia Championships).

Can Chen Long defeat Bao Chunlai here?
Don't think so. BCL should be able to win in 2 games.

CL's skill is still not as polished as BCL's. And it looks like BCL has recovered from his injuries.

    Let's wait and see. :):):)

    Yeap..

..who could beat this "feast for your eyes" lineup for winnie:
Lin Dan, Cai Yun and Chen Long..
    ;)

Btw, i saw the majority of his BAC MS Finals match vs. BCL, and his game is still not polish. For one, he doesn't have a deadly smash like LinDan, esp. from the rear court.

Yup, Chen Long is still a works in progress ..... I knew it the moment he beat Du Pengyu in the semis, he was celebrating as if the title was already won.

Bao Chunlai gave him quite a lot of face though. Imagine, even a supposedly injured player wins a title, shows how deep the difference in ability is between juniors and seniors, in CHN MS squad. Even the WS youngsters didn't manage a final placement when their seniors are in the mood.

To be honest, I thought BCL would give the match to CL, after CL won the 2nd game.

It's good to see BCL telling his junior to work/train harder before celebrating.

hmmm.. hey it is hard to choose la.. love them all plus ah koo! haha:p:D

yah.. his skill is considered quite raw.. havent reli being shaped up.. quite "messy" at some point.. he lost focus quite easily and he lose the patience if his opponent winning a few points in a row
.. in addition, he can get nervous easily by giving away crucial points which he shudnt lose...

however i see that he has got quite good with the tricks and dropshots.. and he's got the guts and not get frightened by his senior.. he even dare to challenge bao at the net!

CL is a mirror image of CJ. Both are fast, smart, have similar form and are capable of beating anybody. The only thing about them is that they are both missing that big smash. i really hope they develop CL's strength and this smash. this is the major thing lacking for all of the young chinese kids right now.

I think Korea's Jang YoungSoo is better now compare CL. JangYoungSoo style like Lee HI.
Maybe Du PY speed is faster than CL now.

But Jang doesn't have LHI's legs and defence to frustrate his opponent.

And yes, Du Pengyu is faster than Chen Long but also more susceptible to direction changes. Sometimes he commits to move too fast and got caught.
