I love my VT80 but I love my VTZF more!!! I got my timing right in one game and it is everything it is claimed to be. The only thing is it has a smaller frame but if you got your timing right...it doesn't matter. I won all my singles game tonight with BG80P @ 27lbs. Smashes were harder and steeper. Net plays were just great. And defense and drives were not a problem.

Just curious, sinceyou were able to transpose your game effectively and immediately to a smaller headed frame, from VT80 to VTZF, did you achieve similar results as well with Arc ZS; assuming you've tried it too?

Sorry. Never played with ArcZS. I stayed away from it after reading how hard it is to play with. My friend got the ArcZS last year. He likes it but I think his game is a bit off with it.

The transition from VT80 to VTZF is really easy. It's almost the same head heaviness but the VTZF is much more quicker. I normally have problems with my flick serve on my VT80. Not a problem at all with my VTZF. Also my smashes with VT80 were more flat but with my VTZF it's steeper. The VTZF is a bit more stiffer which lends to better accuracy. Just loving it. I hope to repeat my success next week.

Steeper smashes have nothing to do with the racket - your timing must've been a little off before. The racket does not give you bigger reach, so the best angle you can achieve is always the same :)

Got mine from RKEP cuz mine's 3UG5. Tad sells 3UG4 for $220+tax (I think) the last time I was there (2 weeks ago).

It's probably cuz it's more aerodynamic that I can get a better swing speed to hit it at a better angle than with my VT80. I'll see how it performs next week.

hello to all VTZF's owners, I just wonder, what is the maximum tension for this racket? Mine's is 3UG5.
I'd already strung my VTZF with ES5PRO at their recommended tension (27lbs) but apparently, it's disappointing me.
27lbs seems not good enough for me. Anyone ever strung their VTZF more than 27lbs? (Master Panda seems already does.:D )

That is "Recommend" it is for warranty but you can go over that tension but you won't get a replacement if it breaks...

You can easily string the VT-ZF (and most other high end Yonex racquets too, do not forget) up to 34-36lbs ECP. What you need is just a good stringer who knows what he is doing and has good stringing technique plus a good machine with good supports.

so to increase to durability of the frame, I need to a continuous grommets?
actually at my place doesn't have a good stringer.....
so I have to be careful to string my high end's racket...so sad..

That's the point, if I go beyond the recommended, and if it breaks, this would be a mess for me to get another VTZF. LOL.
    :crying:

You don't need continuous grommets. As Blitzzards said - the stringer needs a good machine with good side supports. That's enough to string the Voltrics up to 33-35. Can't say much about the other models, but the Arc7 shouldn't get strung higher than 30.

aww...get it, but additional continuous grommets also gives an extra durability on the frame right?
actually I did strung my NS9000 at 30lbs before, then it's breaks on the spot, so my money just wasted.

THANKS TO BLITZZARDS, DREW TZE EN and J4CKIE for the advices! :D :D :D

But Alan Kakinami and Dan Chien has seen for themselves Marc Zweibler's Arc7 requested and strung successfully at 35x37lbs at last year's U.S. Open 2011. My point about the need for a good stringer plus technique plus machine stands :D

Yeah, but Marc is a fully sponsored play who doesn't give a damn about the racket breaking :D Point is, you can string it pretty high depending on the machine, but the risk of it breaking on a mishit is rather big. It's certainly less stable than the Voltrics, which can be strung to 33 on nearly any machine without risking a break on the first smash ;)

    I apply grommets, i.e., AC416 L-4 and AC416 W-2, for my vtzf :D

the L-4 must be cut with scissors though.

Well, yes i have. Too much of it, in fact.

On another note, i've been busy with work lately.
I've been catching up on this 'sticker fiasco' lately, and i'm disappointed.
I mentioned before in my review that the sticker was annoying, but i did not expect it to snowball like this.
I'll be sending my ZFs to string next week, i hope nothing bad happens.

For the bloke who broke his ZF, i feel sorry for you.
It's undoubtedly a great racket, but when it breaks, it has to go.
