No, no, no ... CAB21 Special ... is (sorry to say) "crap" ... you need CAB20sp or CAB21sp in Malaysia to get that full OOOMMMPPPHHH .... btw, when you use CABS, you are supposed TO SMASH THE OPPOSITION ... not use CAB to defend their smashes ... hahahaha ... (terbalik !!)
I use a not popular racket - Hi Qua Power 2070 Nobody seemed to ever have heard of it before, I think it is head light or even balance. It seemed to be alright up net, but does not deliver enough power, like when I smash, my opponents can return it, and when I clear, occasionally it drops before it reaches the opponents rear court.
The VTZF 88 you're talking about is that best all round racket priced at mid range? What is that racket you are talking about?
He's talking about the cab 20sp. Look at his past posts you'll notice a pattern . The vtzf-88 is basically as expensive as yonex gets but if you get a 4u and you can handle the weight and the stiffness I'd say it is a pretty decent all rounder.
Be wary of the Arc Saber Z slash. You see quite a few 2nd hand. Not a lot of people like it after trying it out.
That is opposite to the generally accepted 'opinion' that ns9900 is great/better for doubles than for singles. To op: rackets are down to personal preference and what you as a player are willing to sacrifice and what you want some help with. e.g. more power, but worse defense. faster mid-court play (probably better defense), but less power. etc. technical/physical limitations may prevent some rackets being good choices at all. Since you give none of this information it is impossible to reasonably suggest any racket over another.
IMHO, since the Cab20, Yonex has not produced a DECENT PROPER ALL-ROUNDER ... all the tweaks and fancy materials, have "customised" the racquets into defensive/offensive types ... but A TRUE BLUE ALL-ROUNDER, none .... If you can open up to look into other brands, the ONLY OTHER racquet, I would consider WORTHY of the "all round" tag from the word-go (i.e off-the shelf), without having to "adjust" your capabilities to handle stiffness, weight, etc ... is the VICTOR BRAVESWORD 11 ... mind you, this "baby" is not cheap, in Malaysia, cost nearly 2X a Cab20sp .... for now, should the Cab20 ever becomes EXTINCT, this is the racquet I am buying ... until I try the Gosen Ryoga and make a comparison ...

you're right I always think all round is a weird term though because isn't the only time you would want something perfectly rounded if every aspect of YOUR game is perfectly equal?

Apart from it being my favourite Well, that is because, MAJORITY of posters always ask for AN ALL-ROUNDER that is excellent for BOTH singles and doubles .... a racquet that you can play "equally" well for both types of games. And apart from Cab20/20sp (and may I also add Victor BS11) .... sorry to say, NO OTHER "NEW" racquets are a TRUE BLUE ALL-ROUNDER ... these big manufacturers have stopped making PROPER ALL-ROUNDER racquets that people used to play like in the past because, nowadays, badminton players specialise into singles or doubles specialist ... But to the MILLIONS of average Joes like us, are ... well ... NON-SPECIALIST ... so, we seek out ALL-ROUNDER ... and the "God-of-badminton" YONEX "accidentally" made the ULTIMATE one back in 1985 ... called the CARBONEX 20 ... unsurpassed untill today ...
I think you're right I just don't think people should seek a perfect all rounder unless they really don't have at least one speific aspect of their game they want to improve
Correct - and usually, being a "macho male" - everyone wants a BIGGER, MORE POWERFUL SMASH ... thus moving towards "head-heavy" and isometric frames ... this is why the manufacturers are producing more of these types ... In my case, stroke-wise, I am pretty happy with my all-round game/strokes ... I prefer a good rally stroke play game to all-out smashes. BTW, the Cab20 already gives one HELL OF A SMASH ... so far, from my experience, only VTZF, VT80, AT700 and N90 can really out-perform it significantly / noticably in terms of smashing OOOMMPPPHHH and power .... I just need to have BETTER FOOTWORK and STAMINA ... getting tubby as I age !!
not trying to jump on the carbonex bandwagon, but from my personal experience with many rackets, carbonex with the oval head still feels the best in a smash given that you are spot on the sweet spot when you swing.
