The BWF SS Masters Finals event is also an invitation (for the Top 8 players/pairs in the current year).

In previous years, LYB commented that the BWF SS Masters Finals tournament (in December) clashes with their CHN training schedule. Now that this (Exhibition of 4 Kings) event is held in November, I think that LYB would allow LD to be able to make it.

Many of the current players were kids when Taufik ruled the world.. So it is only logical that the players that where kids on that era have had taufik as their idol. If you ask the kids today who they want to play like, most will say Lin Dan for sure.. And for sheer numbers I think the number of players in China coupled with Lin Dans popularity would most likely mean he will be by far the biggest badminton idol alive today!

To be honest tho, i disagree with u. So, if let say in the future, there's a badminton player that can achieve Lin Dan's accomplishment, does that mean that person is the biggest badminton idol alive? Everyone has a golden era dude. Taufik era may past, but then he is considered a good player in his age. If u doubt me, let's see what Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei can do 2-3 years from now.

Well, CHN will host this event next December plus huge ranking point which offered by SS Finals due to Olympic Qualifying period, most likely their A-list players will not skip like previous editions;)

When the Olympic Qualifying period is over......

    .
    Well, this is good.

Let's hope that when the Olympic Qualifying period is over, CHN will continue to send their A-list players to future SS Masters Finals.

It given that LD has achived more than ANY other badmintonplayer in history, So he will no doubt go down in history as the greatest, If not Axelsen or someone in the future can surpass his achievments .-) Dont get me wrong.. I love Taufik, but you cannot even with the best will say that his career are even close to as succcesul as Lin Dans.

    absolutely agree with twobeer
we all love the backhand king, taufik hidayat
but..fact is fact.. and the fact is LD's career achievement is just too good to be true.. and still as a fan of the backhand king, I must say Taufik's career is "great but still not even close to LD's"

It would be more interesting and good for the game and the fan if LYB ask Lindan not to retire and walk over and fake in the game. Why is he so good to stage the exhibition? We as a fan always want a good fighting spirit, sportmanship, not exhibition or fixing the game and so on. Simply make the competions in the open series and bwf matches clean and play with heart and fighting to entertain and respect the opponent and the fan and the sport world, that is good enough. We do not want a exibition match anymore, it is too much already in the world tour in which the CHN team participate.

I think PG LCW and TH should all WO at last minute before their matches. This will give LYB biggest present :)

And give CHN fans a bit of dose, how it feels buying a ticket and see nothing LOL

They are not there for fun, they are there for the prize money. Although it is called an exhibition match, participants will try to win nontheless.
Finally, finally, badminton can offer tenth the prize money of a grand slam tournament. And I've heard they want to make this yearly.
