Its not that simple. As TH said in the interview, he likes to have a father and son relationship with his coach. LCW also said that no matter whos the coach is MAS players need to start to do it for themself. In short, coach only contribute maybe 50%??

50%? that's pretty high. This is enough for TH to do much better than now.

credit should still be given to taufik's coach

he has brought taufik to where he is now.

i don't think li mao can't transform taufik closer to lcw or lin dan.

    only taufik himself knows better:D

People change, evolve, mature, and sometimes become worse than they used to be. Therefore, relationships can also change. Therefore attitudes and responses can also be different.

Here is my opinion: I don't expect Li Mao to be the same he was 10 or 12 years ago. I would not expect great things from him. In fact, I may expect a lot of negativity and dissatisfaction to be caused with his entry; he has never in recent years projected the energy of a binding force, rather a bit of a divisive force. I hope I am wrong, because I really want the best for INA badminton.

If PBSI really want to take a leaf out of CBA training techniques, it is staring them in the face. A very experienced, "old-school" coach who has great insight and patience, together with a really young, intelligent and constantly aware coach. A team effort. The trick would be to find 2 such people who have enough mutual respect for the other's capabilities, and can compliment each other, and are happy to work together.

Again, I hope I am wrong about Li Mao.

    we weren't comparing lcw's titles to taufik's :D

we were discussing the possibility of taufik improving himself

and at par with lcw or lin dan within this year if under li mao :D

yes, one dedicated local ina coach and li mao must get along first,

so that there will be no language barrier here and

the rest of the players know what they are suppose to do. lol :D

..imo, @ pro or Taufik's level, a coach contributes much less; at most 30% (some would suggest even less). But, say, if at beginner or intermediate level, then yes, a good coach might contribute up to 50% to a player's success..

OK you maybe right 50% is perhaps too high, but at least Mulyono can get the better of TH compare to Li Mao

From that news, it is really certain that Li Mao will be coaching Indonesia Team for 2 years in contractual basis, particularly in Singles Department where Doubles Department is still led by Christian Hadinata.

Indonesian players are very pleased with the decision, they hope Indonesia Badminton will claim back the throne.
In addition Marleve Mainaky as a head coach of Women Singles department is really supporting PBSI for that decision, he said that, having Li Mao coaching in Indonesia Team will give another dimension of training which he can gain a lot of experience from.
