A lucky escape for Han Li. Akane moves effortlessly across all four corners of the court, and she is calm and steady, and mature beyond her age; a very promising, up-and-coming player.
nope,i am serious the sentence in bold is kidding. han li lost 8 times against world top ten last year and only won 2.
You get my point though. Han Li isn't a noob, and she had a tough fight against a 16 year old half her size. She had to save a match point. Anyway, I'm not impressed with LCW too, and I've watched him more than once hehe. He keeps losing to Lin Dan.
I thought the one Yao Xue thrashed the last time was Juliane Schenk at the China Open last Nov'13, 21-7 and 21-11. The previous time she beat Bae YJ was at the MAS GPG '13 in two sets by a fighting score of 21-15,21-18, not exactly that convincing.
well,i was pretty accurate on under 19 ws. if u know my track record. at age of 16,yes,she is the better player of all around her age,but not good enough to be in top 10. remember wc 2013 only 2 years older than her, SS winners and SSMF runner up only 3 years older than her. she will win some ajc and wjc title,no worry(if she still willing to participate.
So what do you expect? You want her to thrash top 10 players at will? If she did, she'd be in the top 5 hehe. So yes, I still think you were pretty harsh with your above comment.
You'll see my friend. Yamaguchi will be top 10 by the end of this year. Feel free to quote this post if I'm wrong hehe. And LCW will lose to Chen Long or Lin Dan in World Champs. Again, feel free to quote. I've never been wrong with these long term predictions.
My friend (hopefully not only this time I address you because I don't know who you support), it is not difficult to predict LCW losing to CL or LD. Age is catching up with him. If he can't maintain his high standards, it's better he retires.
she will be around 70th after this tournament. sure, let see.i say she wont be able to reach top 10 by the end of this year. oh~~~who care if lee chong wei lost to CL/ld/u or anyone? i guess more than half malaysian hated/dislike him now,u must be outdated
I'm afraid Han Li's fitness is suspect against Akane , particularly obvious in G3, where she was leading 14-7, 18-11, and 20-14 before allowing her opponent to force deuce, and only managed to scrape through 23-21 in the end. I agree, Akane is a player to watch; she should go far;let the future tell. Btw, I doubt Han Li can deal with Intanon tomorrow.
sometimes the last point is the hardest to score... i'm sure that many of us have encountered this ) Also remember Li Xuerui against Intanon in WC, first game was 19-12 up and ended up losing 20-22. Yamaguchi is a great player no doubt. Seems kind of a robot though, so no empathy from me )
It's a huge pity. Yamaguchi saved nearly 6 match points just to lose to the opponent. She is like running machine. Her game is similar to that of He Binjiao of china.
Quite true, sometimes the final gamepoint/matchpoint can prove elusive - it's as if after you've made a 'superhuman' effort to reach there, you immediately and naturally want to reward yourself with a well-deserved breather, take your foot off the pedal and somehow expect your opponent to hand it to you on a platter; and that's when the trouble starts because once you come down from a high, it takes you a while and some renewed effort to charge back up again. During this time, as long as your opponent doesn't make any mistakes or, better still, he can dig his heels in and pursue you relentlessly, then you're likely to be the one to 'reward' him accordingly and,to rub it in, you can't help but do so willy-nilly as if spellbound. Normally, I'm not too excited by WJC, AJC or any promising junior players - I'd give them another two to three years to prove themselves at the adult level, there's hardly any exception. Even the famous child prodigy,Intanon R, has to take about 3/4 years in the adult international circuit to make a mark for herself winning a maiden title.
