Great evidence, my dear Watson. I've used all 3 and the ArcSabre 8DX is my choice. Second is the A900P.
First impressions Yesterday I played with the Arcsaber 8DX for about three hours. My first impressions compared to Arc Z are Performance: It is a powerful racket but not as powerful as the Arc Z. Defense and control on the other hand are much better than Arc Z. I will play another 3 hours tomorrow evening. But even with the little experience I have gathered I might already say it is better suited for my overall game. I made far less mistakes and played quiet constant. Looks: Not very colorful I didn't like the blurry transition between white and silver or black and silver. Looks somehow cheap. Shape: Only the upper part of the head is box shaped like the Arc-Z but it is not as slim (Arc Z: 8.5mm, Arc 8DX 10mm). The lower part of the head is aero shaped with the same thickness (10mm) as the Arc Z. The head has standard ISO size not "semi-iso" as some users already pointed out.
Just bought mine.. A limited stock came to denmark before time, and I was offered one, so I'll pick it up monday before training, and give a quick review of it when I come home.. It'll get strung with BG-80, but I do not know the tension, but my guess is 24lbs.. My current main racket is a AT900T, so, it'll be compared to that..
I have played with it today. To be brief, this one is ARC 9 for men. Totally same balance, nearly same size sweat spot, nearly same shape. The only difference is that it has extra stiff shaft. The frame is not as stiff as the shaft , therefore it returns nearly no vibration while hitting hard. In term of playability, it's an Arc9 that hit harder with marginally weaker defence and control. If you like the feel of ARC7 or ARC9 but feel them not stiff enough, I think this one is for you.(need no time for conversion I guess)
Just played with the AS 8DX for 3 hours today. Plays like a stiffer AS 7 with slightly more power but less head speed. Control and defense it very good. I like it better than the AS 7 and AT900p.
lol! Yap! Well the point is, he's using the wrong terms as they do not line up with what Yonex is using. AS stands for Aerosena while ARC is Arcsaber.
Then they are wrong then hehehe! If you look at the actual product packaging Yonex Aerosensa packaging or the shuttle itself and Arcsaber (shrink wrap still on), you can see the actual product code which I have right here in my hands. It's AS and ARC.
Got to try my ARC8DX tonight, and wow.. It got the power of my AT's, but is more easy to weild.. Although at first it had a wierd feeling to it, kinda hard to explain.. Kinda like; with my AT900T it's BAM - shuttle away.. With the ARC8DX it's boing.....(a mili-sec).....shuttle away.. It does not feel like it blasts away the shuttle like an AT, but the shuttle flies just as long... Love it though.. Been having a bit of shoulder/elbow pains, but they are totally gone! Just gotta get used to that "boing" feeling
"Boing" is good. Still loving mine. Slightly built up the grip at the "palm" area with foam and now the racquet is doubly perfect.
