Why do you want to get wristweights? What does it do?

In one of the threads on Zhao Jianhua, you can see a picture of Han Jian training with weights strapped onto his ankles. You wanna try those instead?

I do see various club members have wrist weight and ankle weight on all the time (not playing) for strength training purpose. However, never seen anyone of them have the weights on during playing.

wrist weights??? do you mean wrist resistence trainers or actual weights that you hold in your hand, or similar to ankle weights but attaches to the wrist?

i believe those weights are only used for strength training purposes only, never heard them being used during playing time. you could end up injuring yourself.

Using wrist weights to train won't do that much for you except for strength your arms slightly by adding extra resistance to your swing. But considering how badminton is a sport where you need to your wrist, this might not be such a great idea since it restricts your wrist movement and does not strengthen your wrist.

Using ankle weights are okay though as long as you are careful because you can injure your knees and twist your ankles more easily. Using 3 lb ankle weights are good to start to help increase your explosiveness and leg strength.

i'd avoid using ankle weights during games or training.

there's a lot more effective ways of building up strength in those areas, that take less time, that are safer, and cheaper. I just don't see any use for ankle or wrist weights except in limited situations, and none of those situations are mentioned here.
