Higher tension only benifits you if you can handle it. To handle it, you must have a stronger arm.

not just a strong arm... you have to have technique.
higher technique, and better timing will allow you to hit the sweetspot more consistently. this is more important than a stronger arm. but yes, a stronger arm is also required to take the punishment of more vibrations and jolts of high tension. but these are minimized by hitting the sweetspot. |

I am adamant that higher tension will generate more power. The power limits of high tension only show at around 27-28lbs for some and at around 30lbs for most players. Having strong arms certainly help, but players with weaker arms can also benefit from high tension. I have done enough field tests with different types of players to be convinced of what I am saying.

What is your recommendation for NS7000 and NS8000 for the followings? 1. Cross tension 2. Main tension 3. String brand 4. String thickness Thanks. |

Contrary to popular belief, high tensions do not wear out your strings significantly faster than low tensions. However, with very high tensions a mishit at the top of the frame will shatter the string with a pop. This is because at this location there are not many strings save a skimpy few to take the load of your mistimed hits. Very powerful hitters who frequently mistimed their shots will break high tension string with the very first mishit at the top. I have such customers, but they always come back for more. I have no complaints. ![]() |

With higher tension your shots will be faster, because the stiffer stringbed doesn't idle around to have a cup of afternoon tea before it sends the shuttle away. In badminton, a split micro second can spell the difference between victory or defeat.

But higher tension is like hitting a shuttle with a wooden board
