depends on what you count as "expensive" i tend to lean towards recommending the ISO series or MP 2x (22, 23, 25, etc) for beginners. they're relatively cheaper and pretty good

In my personal experience, if you are a beginer player, you shouldn't use the cheap rackets of Yonex. Almost of them were made in local enterprise in China and have unremarkable quality. With a moderate paying, you could choose a good racket of Sotx,Gosen or Ashaway. I have done the samething for my wife, a beginer. When your badminton skills improve ,you could think about the expensive rackets of Yonex by their virtual qualities.Good lucks!

Do the ordinary sport stores in the mall have them ?

if you want to consider other brands, most brands will offer cheaper rackets that are probably somewhat better value than Yonex lower end rackets. however, i like yonex the best, so i usually recommend that

Not problem, I see! If you are a beginer and you really love the Yonex brand, you could purcharge a MP 33 ( about 65 -75 USD) which is the only good of the lower price of Yonex rackets.Keep attension : its 665mm lenght !

Do you mean every racket types are different in length ? Until now, I have been thinking that all racket are same in length
And that 665 mm length is a long one or a short one ?

most rackets should be roughly the same length. some rackets are 1 cm or so longer than others, while some are a tiny bit shorter. i'm not sure whether 665mm is long or not though.

i'm a beginner and use a Cab 10 SP and I got for my wife also a beginner a MP 23. The reason being that MP23 is the entry level MP series, has a isometric head for bigger sweet spot which i reasoned was better for beginners (both are 2U G4 but the MP23 costs 10% more than my Cab 10 SP, both strung at 22lbs.)

However, after 10 hours with the MP23, just out of interest, she switched to my Cab 10 SP and started hitting the shuttle more cleanly and so much better. Her feedback was that she couldn't get used to the head-heavy balance of the MP23. So i would say that even for beginners, there is a matter of personal preference.

p.s. MP23 is definitely a few mm longer than my Cab 10 SP.

i think "susi sports" in Kelapa Gading sell some Gosen models. Not sure bout ashaway. SOTX doesnt exist in the whole indonesia i dont think.
for beginners racket i might suggest the Cab 8 which are mainly sold in Royal sporting house (or sports station), should cost no more than RP 200.000 if im not wrong.

Hi, 665mm is regular lenght of a badminton racket. But now, there are many rackets made by Yonex, Gosen,La Fleche, Sotx... with long lenght (675mm) or super long (680mm).Especially, the high level MP's, the AT's and the Nano Speed's of Yonex are designed in 675mm. If you are a beginer, when you switch from regular lenght racket to long or super long racket, you could experience in a bit difficulty.

He is very very wrong about MP.

I dont know enough about Yonex racquets to be authoritative on the Carbonex 6000, but I would say it is either a fake or some very very old stock he wants to get rid of.

i think a frd of mine got a Cab 6000 (carbonex).. i told her to get an ISO 30 or something, (for beginners, i reasoned that an isometric head is easier to play with and more forgiving than oval). i havent tried the Cab 6000 myself, but as rackets in Canada are very expensive, there was limited choice in the price range
