Default Light Racket for Wrist

Hi I was wondering if using a lighter racket would reduce wrist pains, and if so what are some light rackets that would be of help? Thanks!

I donot know exactly how is your wrist pains, but in my personal opinion, you could use a light racket as 4U or 5U weight for training. It may be Karakal SL 70, YY Aerotus 100 either Ashaway Superlight 78 SQ,Ti 130.Good lucks!

i am guessing you are missing the sweet spot. lower your string tension if it is higher than 22lb. switch to a racquet with more flexable shaft. these 2 things will make it easier on your wrist. what kind of racquet are you using?

Is it wrist pain or muscle soreness?

If wrist pain, IMHO, it would be more due to wrong technique...

If muscle soreness, then one reason could be a heavy racket.. or tension. But you should be able to get used to it eventually, assuming you are using the correct technique.

i think it is hard to say, my friend who is 27, his technique is correct but now his wrist is pain now, cant even do a smash. if muscle is pain, i think the muscle power has improved... after that, you have more power that generated by the muscle.

Basically I agree with you, but think it thru logically, there must be something different from before that is causing the wrist pain. There are too many factors involved, even too much playing can cause pain. did your friend increase tension? Using a heavy racket doesn't necessarily equate to having wrist pain.. (and what kind of pain?? - another indicator of what could be wrong). eventually the body adapts.. even if the tecnique is correct, a bad habit could have been developed.. etc.. really hard to say..

thats the reason I was asking if it is muscle soreness or pain. The difference could give a clue to the problem. If soreness due to exercise, then indeed, eventually the person will become stronger... but if it is pain.. then I would guess technique. Or maybe even just a simple injury..

by the way the Karakal Sl-70 is light but also stiff and has a bit of vibrations.. so could also generate future problems..

regards, and sorry for the long post.
