when did yonex manufacture a racket like this?

guys,

the one on the top is my 05 cab 20 jp. below it is my original cab 20 cn.
i'd found that. all the modern rackets'd got a "joint". i don't know how to call that thing but i m gonna call it a "joint" anyway!. u can find that thing in the middle of the outside frame.
all my mp88 got it. my swing power ti got it. u can even find it in a new logo cab 20 sp.
do u guys know when did yonex produce a racket like that and do u guys think the new racket is less durable than the old one because of that?

Yeah, I found the same "joint" on my 2004 Ti-10 as well! Wonder what's the purpose of that?

It's not a joint!

It's to let you know where the middle of the frame is at the top of the racket so you can align for stringing and applying the stencil logo.

Some Yonex rackets have this, others have a painted mark to let you know top centre.

Remember the rackets are made of layered graphite (or other materials) in molds so there is no join at the top of the frame, rackets are mostly one piece now.

The line that you see is too low in profile to have any effect on string ware and it also shouldn't be a sharp point but a rounded edge from what I remember.

Don't know about other people, but I find that little bump helps me find exactly where the middle top of the racquet is when I mount it on a stringing machine. Some racquets have a dot or some sort of writing (e.g., Yonex racquets) to mark the middle spot while others don't. Without any sort of marking it can be a bit troublesome making sure the racquet is on straight.

at the beginning. i thought yonex had changed to a lost cost method of manufacturing racquets
