Do you guys think badminton shoes are really worth it? Is there some big difference between badminton shoes and regular basketball or tennis shoes? Im beginning to get dedicated to badminton, and when the school season starts again, i was thinking about getting some shoes, but dont really know if i should spend money on them

Badminton brand specific shoes....hmmm, like yonex...I am sure there are certain advantages since they are designed for badminton....I find that a lot of gum rubber indoor shoes (yellow soles) in general are all good for badminton....they seem to hold up well...volleyball and squash specific shoes are good....tennis shoes and basketball shoes are too heavy in my opinion....
I have used Mizuno's & Adidas in the past and now have a pair of Hi Tec's...all have done their job well... AF |

I always tell the players I coach this:
Even if you have the best racket in the world, but you don't have a good pair of shoes, you may not be able to reach the shuttle. But even if you have a lousy racket but a good pair of shoes, you definitely WILL be able to reach the shuttle. |

Don't ever play w/Basketball shoes .. blah .. too bulky
get something light, yet durable Badminton has ruined many shoes for me .. from net shots mostly the sides get all torn up from when they touch the floor its hard to find shoes that dont' wear out in this way |

Wedge, my advice would be to avoid getting your shoes tangled in the net.

shoes that wear out fast are better 4 your feet than those shoes that last. |

Even if they wear out in 3 months? I have yet to find a pair that has lasted me a whole year or even at most a little over 6 months.
