Default Calgary Singles Hangout

Yamato, which club(s) do you play at? Do you play both feather and plastic or just one kind of shuttle?

single rules. it would be nice to have a single handout, i'm ok with feather or nylon but not modify nylon. for me the best place to play is VSLS on thursday evening, and saturday and sunday morning beforn noon, courts are guaranteen during this time. yes, entry fee is expensive...$8 to get in but if you plan to play twice a week or more, a year pass is worth considering. yes, let me know too if you want to play single, all level are welcome.

let me see, so far we have...

hey, i'm still game.
however, why dont u go to hillhurst-sunnyside community gym, wed and friday nights, 4$ drop in, shuttles included. VSLC's $8 buck is too steep and no free shuttles , or at MRC sunday night.

i went to hillhurst couple of time, is ok but the floor is very tough on my knee. i like MRC, i pretty sure i will be there when vslc close for renovation this septemper for a month. how about a single game this thursday at 7:30pm at vslc, i'm already meeting someone there to play, he is the city champion this year. if you come and everyone is welcome, i will supply the shuttle....and oh yeah, please don't modify my new nylon shuttle.

good bet... he is a senior champ (17), you see him before at MRC, his name is pat. he is fun to play with, very energetic and have a good attitude. i will ask the junior city champ (16) to play too, he is my badminton partner son but he is not really into badminton. hope to see you and other single enthusiastic player to join me this thursday between 7-10.

tip to get in free..wet your hair and say you new to vslc, and didn't know where to get a stamp for re-entry.

Default i was there

i was there, really impress by the quality of skill of chan and william display in double. and chiness girls is pretty awesome too and damn cute.

i'm not sure where to play this month (sept), as you may or may not know, vslc is closed this month. kelvin toll me to try out bedinton but my badminton buddies like hillhurst better because they have better players there. but most likely i won't be playing either place, because i plan to get in shape for the yonex series open at MRC this septemper 14 to see if i can improve my ranking before my old body fails on me.

happy guy, are you the guy accompanying with Van, seem lost inside the glencoe club, and asked for direction to the badminton courts?

Yes, both keith and william were impressive by beating the chinese MD in under 23 catergory. They are what i considered 'smart' singles players. But to be fair to the chinese pair, one was U16 and the other was U19, both entered together in the under 23 MD. I can say the chinese were impressive too considering their ages.

Hey, what better way to practice for the alberta series than play some singles with people at hillhurst. It 4$ for 4 hrs at hillhurst where as it is 4$ for 2 hrs at beddington. You can help me to shape up for my corporate challenge too occurring the same week as the alberta series.

Default are you pulling my leg?

i though you new who i'm long ago because i ask kelvin if he ever point me out at MRC, and he said sort of. yes, you're getting close, but no that is not me. if you match the age with the face, than you know who i am.
