Iīm not a good badmintonplayer.
I started to play about ten years ago. I bought a racket on a sale. Nothing special just a cheap racket. After one season my partner smashed at my racket in a double. Not so fun. The racket broke. Not much but much enough. I bought a new racket on a sale. A "Slazenger Mystiq 400". I quit playing badminton after o total of two seasons. Recently Iīve started to play again and I really enjoy it!! But my Slazenger isnīt good enough so I want to buy a new better racket. So I surfed around the net to find out about what to buy and guess what!!!! The racket I broke, my first racket, was a Yonex Boron-2!! Iīve still got it. Itīs slightly broken and not playable. Here is a picture taken yesterday: And by the way... I need some help in choosing a new racket (thatīs my price for the picture!) Iīve found three rackets that I choose between. Any comments are welcome!! I also have the privilge to own a Boron-2 and it is a very good racquet. In addition I own a Yonex MP77 and I think it is an excellent racquet. I haven't tried any of the Yonex Ti series but the MP77 IS a Ti racquet.
I would recommend the MP77. Ben |

Depending on your budget, you have a variety of choices and not just from Yonex, but other brands like Carlton, Forza. The Yonex Boron-2 is a very good racquet although I know folks who either love it or hate it and by the way, it is no longer cheap since a mint Boron-2 can fetch a hefty sum nowadays. |

Boron-2 was cheap??? Even on sale??? God... Hope I could born ealier...
Anyway, try Yonex Cab-20. It's more like a traditional racket, good power, good control, with good price. Other than Yonex, there are other brand available out there. I think if any model fits for u and price is even better, take a shot at it. |

Lazybuddy:
It was!! When I was in Hong Kong in 1989, it cost HK$560, which was ONLY US$75. It was one of the most expensive racquets at the time and I nagged my mom into buying for me. I own the Carbonex 23 and definitely say that Boron-2 is better. The Boron-2 is very similar to the MP77. Perhaps the sweet spot is a bit smaller. Ben |

wow, the boron-2 in the pic looks exactly like my Victor Columbia, even the paintjob pattern is identical. Maybe Victor was trying to copy it? Columbia is only $40 USD.

Painfull isnīt it!!?? ![]() I comfort myself with the knowledge that a Boron-2 wont make much different if you arenīt a very good player and maybe, just maybe, not even then! And it was fragile so it would not last forever anyway, because just like a stradivarius, it should be played with and only a good player can get the best of it... My Boron-2 was probably very unhappy with me so it throwed itself infront of my partners racket and took itīs life...... ![]() |

i had Boron-2 few years back.(it was a give from my coach from highschool team) at then i didn't know too much about rackets, so i didn't value it much. i lost in locker room from my college, know i eveytime thought about it, it just make me so much in pain.(i believe my gym teacher kept it, and pretend don't know anything about it). So sad
