I just bought Armotec 800 OF in Hong Kong last month. It\'s a 4U/4G model. Racquet has a very stiff shaft and frame. Overall weight balance is excellent. I feel more vibration using this racquet than the Carbonex 21SP racquet I\'ve been using. Not sure if the person who strung racquet took advantage of the extra stringing holes in this new racquet design. I\'ve only played with this racquet once. I find this racquet offers a very good power and control. I will post some more comments when I get to play more with it.

I have been playing with the AT-800def for about a month now. Since my last racquet was a MP100, the transistion was not very difficult. Being head heavy, it doesn\'t require a lot of acceleration to be created for strong hits. Overall light weight makes for good manoeuverability. I am very satisfied with this racquet so far.

I just purchases the ArmorTec 800 Offensive yesterday and played with it. Moving from a Yonex Ti-3 the difference was far too much to handle :P It didtn feel right plus i have it strung with BG-85 and my Ti-3 was strung with BG-65. Ive been using my Ti-3 for over three years now so am very use to it. For now i must say it will be hard getting use to the extra stiff 800 Offensive.

The AT800Def is my favourite racket of all time. It has everything that a player could ask for control, power, balance, speed etc...
Although there are other Yonex rackets that are better in other respects - this is the one that is most well balanced.... Great feel and accuracy.....
It does not have the raw power of the Ti-10 but sure is a lot easier to use...
Would recommend it for all levels of play ...

I think this is a great racket. I have played with it for a month. My previous racket was Armortec 700 and it was easy to change because 800 def. is not so stiff and maybe not so head heavy. Good racket! Only the net-feel wasn´t so good.

I borrowed the OF from a friend for a game, I liked it, it was 3U, it felt very light yet had very good power...control wasn\'t bad either... However, I wouldn\'t get this unless it was bundles cheaper...

(Armortec 800 Offensive)
I have to say this is the best racket I have ever used. Although this racket is designed for doubles, it plays very well in singles too. Well worth the price.
My friend has Armortec 700 and the only difference I can see visually is the Armortec 800 offensive has a slightly longer handle. I have played with both and I find them very similar but the advantages to the 800 offensive is the longer shaft designed for changing grips in doubles play. I have tried this and I must say it is very well designed. The cap is slightly higher up compared to other rackets and is great for even defensive net play.
The construction is pure quality, I got this string at 24lbs with bg-68ti, and every hit feels very solid with perfect control. I had a little trouble getting used to this at first because I kept hitting everything out because it’s so much more powerful. (I used to use the MP-88)
The down side to this racket is obviously the price and I found myself slightly slower at retrieving smashes, this is due to the head heavy frame which compensates speed for power even thought the whole racket is extremely light. But you do get a lot of power in return. From a quick short swing, I find myself hitting the shuttle much higher and further even with my backhand.
Another fall is the string design of the racket, unlike most racket, the outer strings are hidden within the frame. The Armortec series strings do tend to stick out from the sides and in rare occasions, you could scrape the floor causing the strings to snap. But from my point of view, this is a pro racket and pros do not scrape their rackets on the floor =).
I would recommend this racket for hard attacking players, but not suitable for amateur players with a weak swing. This racket is really for pro because of the very stiff shaft and will take a while to get used to if you used a flexible shaft racket before.

As you can see from my previous review, I purchased an Armortec 800 Offensive, since I needed a spare racket in case anything happens during a match. I was curious whats the difference between these two versions, therefore I decided to buy the Defensive racket as well.
Strung with bg80 @ 22lbs. I must say, the defensive is slightly better than the offensive. \"For me anyways\". When I smash, i feel slightly less air resistance compared with the box shaped offensive thanks to the new aero design. The shaft is more flexible letting me generate more power. I would say this racket is more suitable for an advanced defensive player with a less powerful smash. The offensive designed for a powerhouse precision smasher. But dont get me wrong, both rackets can be played both offensively and defensively.

there are good days and bad days with this racket for me. i have an armortec800 OFF strung with bg65 at 21 pounds. this is MORE then enough to maintain the power and speed that the armortec is made for.
the offensive version is meant for players at the back of the court as the smash and drops are very effective with this racket. its VERY hard to play defensive with. eg: my friend borrowed my OFF for a doubles game while he normally uses a DEF. his drops at the net went over 1/20 times because he uses a ping-pong style slice at the front. the at800 is much lighter then the at700, probably too light. it was very hard to make the transition because of the weight difference in the two. drops are much faster but slices are greatly reduced. clears are horrible with this racket but offensive lobs are incredibly useful as the bird gets there fast and drops quick. get this racket if you are a smashed based player.
armortec800 DEF is a better racket if ur a drop and receive player. as mentioned above, there is a \"slice\" drop you can do at the front of the net which will throw off ur opponents 95% of the time. the smash is not very good with this racket but is above average. drops r perfect and slice-shots from the back of the court r beautiful. there is very good control in this racket and is recommended for all levels of play.

I just got this racket yesterday and had it strung with bg 65 at 23 lbs. I just used it today and was rather disappointed. It didn\'t feel that powerful or light. Maybe I was expecting too much. It doesn\'t feel exceptional to my intermediate rackets which cost half as much. I\'ve used my friend\'s MP 77 and 99 which I think they are better. I don\'t think the racket was strung properly. Also, I don\'t have grip right now so that wasn\'t too great (hurt my hand). I hope that changing the stringing and tension will change my views on this racket.
