<p>If you think performance is everything then Micro Legend is the string to go for as it feels very crist on net play and generates solid smashes when it hits against shuttle. The major drawback about Micor Legend is its durability, it breaks quite easily. The other minor drawback is its coating which is quite oily hence requires tighter than usual clamping while stringing. Too tight of clamping causes easy breaking of string. However, the performance you get out of Micro Legend is tremendous.<br>p/s: Don't get intimidate by Micor Legend appearance, it looks awful! <br>

<p>There are two gauges of MicroLegend available from Ashaway. The 0.69mm is the thinner one (called Ashaway MicroLegend XL) while the 0.73mm is the thicker one and known, technically, as Ashaway MicroLegend.<br><br>
Both have same construction and great texture. It's pearl white with red & blue crosses woven in.<br>
<br>
The 0.73 gauge is strong enough to even put in Prince badminton rackets. As with ALL badminton strings, be sure not to clamp the string too tight (check your clamps on the end of string (the overage that will not go into the racket) to ensure you are not compromising the coating -- whether it's oily or not. If you are not using good quality badminton-specific clamps on your machine, you may want to try the Yonex (floating) string clamps - they are self-adjusting and do not bite into the coating of strings. (Another advantage of the Yonex floating string clamps is that they allow you to string much faster than clamps that slide on bars).<br>
<br>
Anyway, if you've had durability issues with MicroLegend, make sure you try/request MicroLegend 0.73mm and that the stringer is careful with clamps to not nick the string's coating.<br>
<br>
Ashaway has a NEW string similar to MicroLegend called MicroPower that plays a lot like BG70PRO and is more durable.<br>

I used this string only once on my Fleet Ti-99 racket and i didn't really get the feel of it. However, from what i did get from this tring was pretty good for an Ashaway string. I used a Rally 21 before and i hated it.
<br>
<br>
This Microlegend string is solid in control and smashes and also gives you the feel.
<br>
<br>
This is not the best of strings though.... Some better strings include the Yonex BG 80 and 85.

I got a free replacement for my broken Fleet Ti-99 with unfortunately another Fleet Ti-99 and i got it strung with this Microlegend string @ 24lbs. I thought it was the best string in the world till just recently. Its lost all its tension and now is about down to 20lbs if not lower......
<br>
<br>
Somehow i hate to say i'm starting to hate this string..... btw it costs $18 dollars singapore and thats the most expensive string i've come across

I've tried the XL version of this string as well as Flex 21 and MicroPower. I found MicroLegend to be one of the best feeling strings I've used (haven't tried bg 66 though). Power, feel, repulsion, and control are all excellent. I find it to be alot better than Flex 21 and MicroPower.
<br>
<br>
I usually string this string about about 22lbs on titanium rackets and a bit more for others. I've tried this string on yonex ti, carbonex, mps series, and some other rackets. (although racket doesn't really effect the string that much)
<br>
<br>
The oily coating does mean the strings move around a lot but that also helps with spreading the wearage over more string area rather than having it concentrated at the intersections.
<br>
<br>
Durability is definately a problem and the main reason that I don't string my rackets with them. Although apparently bg66 break faster, so if you've got the money then definately try these.

Sorry, in the below posting I believe I used the normal MicroLegend string not the XL version. The XL version is the 0.73mm gauge where as the other is 0.69mm

I had this String strung at 22lb on my MP 99 and a ISO 95VF. The string does feel pretty good, but then first racquett's string snapped during the first game I played... so I thought hmm... bad luck...so I switch to the second racquett..and this time, the string broke after the FIRST shot. What a piece of ****!

Ashaway Microlegend is a nylon multifilament with 0.69 mm gauge string. This is one of the most playable string in the Ashaway competition strings line. Compare to other Ashaway competition strings, the durability is so so. If you would like to try a string with the same playability but improve a little bit on durability, try the Ashaway Micropower (0.70 mm gauge). Microlegend is recommended to use for feather shuttlecock only.
