Anyone heard of this latest prince technology called "Oversize"? I actually just bought one of these rackets. It's coated in Crome and looks really good. It comes in 3 different types. -Oversize Red -Oversize Orange -Oversize Silver The color differences is to signify the stiffness, weight, balance etc differences amongst those 3 rackets. I bought the Oversize Orange. It's less stiff compared to the silver and red. Lighter than the silver and more head heavy. It states there all 3uG5. But I feel that the silver is headed a little towards the 2u side. But what the heck. Anyone heard of these rackets before?? Their out here in M'sia. And one of my friend who is an ex-national player uses it and recommended it to me. I am currently using a Prince Thriple Threat Thunder 88 along with my Wilson n90. I've yet to try this one out as I just bought it and it's being strung now. Going to collect it later and most probably play and try it out tomorrow night. Seems to me that it's the latest tech for Prince as that's what all the shopsellers says it is. I'm pretty much convinced. Sigh... There goes my halfway savings for my Armortec 700. :crying: It cost RM250 with a grip and a new BG66 strings which are going to be strung at 24lbs.
Oh and it's stated on every Oversize racket "for all round performance". wow... And I just can't describe how beautiful is it. Maybe I can get a picture of mine pretty soon and show you guys. It claims to have the largest sweet spot ever. I wonder whether there will be a SUPERsize racket coming up next. LOL
Yes, i have seen that oversize silver a few days ago. It was recommended by my regular stringer. Did not have the chance to play with it, so don't really know how does it feels like. The oversize frame makes it look like a tennis racket.
What is the length and width of the frame. Is the rule racket heads cannot be longer then 29cm and wider then 23cm?
Well it felt really good. The control and power and stability is there. I just played with it last night, and I only have a chance to warm up for 2 minutes and played a really intense game and then pack back home as the court booking was a little messed up. But boy, did I shock myself coz this is the first time holding it in a game. Stroking with it for the first 2 minutes made me realize that the sweet spot is not the same as my previous racket (duh!) and therefore I ajusted to it in the game as my previous fav racket is the prince Triple Threat Thunder 88 so it's kinda easy I guess changing from Prince to another Prince racket. I believe the sweet spot is easier to find and get use to IMO. Believe you me that the racket is BEAUTIFUL. It's just crying out loud. It's really nice. But there are 2 extreme school of thoughts here, one saying it's REALLY nice and the other saying it's REALLY bad. So I guess there isn't any middle ground on the looks of this racket. ok some reviews, it's stated in all 3 rackets 3uG5. But gosh, I learn not to trust the weight factor at least. I bought myself the Orange and it just feels good overall. I haven't had more games with it yet but it just felt natural. And smashest were powerful, placing around the court was also very accurate (except for the 1 inch out calls near the baseline from a nice clear) I felt very comfortable with the Orange. I actually wanted to buy silver for the looks, but I just went for the safer side for me and bought the orange which I didn't regret a bit. Anyway, to make life easier: Weight Orange : Slightly heavier 3u around 87-90g Red : Slightly lighter than the Orange 84-86g Silver : Close to a 2u. My estimation 89g-94g Stiffness Orange: Medium-Stiff (Originally stated as Medium flex) Red : Stiff (Originally stated as High flex) Silver : Stiff (Originally stated as High flex) Balance Orange: Head heavy Red : Even balance Silver : Head heavy Well, I doubt it's 'against the rule' coz when I compared it with an Armortec 300, It's just a minor difference of maybe 1cm or 1.5cm. I'm sorry, camera is currently with my bro so can't take any pictures of it.
If you want to talk about oversized racquet frames, you haven't seen anything yet... Take a look at this, and please..., DO take some notice to its specs... http://www.badmintonalley.com/Carlton_Powerblade_C400_Junior_Badminton_Racquet_p/racket-c-powerblade-c400-jr.htm
I got it in Selangor section 17 Ban Fatt. You can also get it in Amcorp Mall in P.J. 3rd floor. K.L. Pertama complex.
Well, I got it for RM250 la which I think it still can be lowered. But heck, BG66 and grip plus racket and an EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL BAG!! 2 compartments. Super model bag! But well, sry for not having the photo... But I sold mind off to buy a Nanospeed 8000 already. Hehehe... Hope you like the racket.
prince...i like their rackets... have in mind to get a new prince racket... do u have a pic of ur racket josh? at least i will know wat to look out for.
I think the oversize can go down cheaper than RM250. I bought it without consulting my friend who can give me a very very good price for it. *sigh...* Mistakes we make in life.
