Two home elite shuttlers failed to step up into last four, third seed Wang Yihan and second seed Xu Chen/Ma Jin. Another setback yesterday was defending champion Ahmad/Natsir who unexpectedly lost to local junior Zheng SW/Chen QC.

LIVE TV (court 1, 01.00pm) :
– Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi (JPN) v Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei (CHN)
– Saina Nehwal (IND) v Liu Xin (CHN)
– Chou Tien Chen (TPE) v Lin Dan (CHN)
– Lu Kai/Huang Yaqiong (CHN) v Yoo Yeon Seong/Eom Hye Won (KOR)
– Lee Sheng Mu/Tsai Chia Hsin (TPE) v Chai Biao/Hong Wei (CHN)

Japanese world #1 Matsutomo/Takahashi become the only ones who can prevent an all China WD final tomorrow.  However, JPN WD may not have enough strong stamina after played marathon match 96 mins yesterday against their teammates Kakiiwa/Maeda. On the adjacent court, Wang XL/Yu Yang will face their younger compatriot Luo Twins.

Liu Xin is the last home player standing after upset defeats for the two Wangs and Li XR missing this SSP. She has heavy burden of expectation by the homeground fans to keep CHN supremacy in this category. In the bottom half of the draw, the high in confidence Bae Yeon Ju will meet JPN young sensation Akane Yamaguchi.

The well-improved Chou TC will try to create something big in his career, none other than to defeat badminton maestro Lin Dan. It’s still fresh in our memory that their last meeting was the first round of DEN SSP last month when Super Dan won over Chou in rubber games. Will Chou make it this time after finishing a late and bruising quarterfinal? In the other semifinal tie, giant killer Marc Zwiebler will face another IND player, Kidambi Srikanth who disposed of Kento Momota last night.

Yoo YS/Eom HW performed really good yesterday despite trailing behind in early first game but they could turn the tables. The Korean pair has the chance to grab the final ticket and challenge top-seed Zhang/Zhao tomorrow.

Chai/Hong, who got thrilling match against the Japanese Hashimoto/Hirata, will also be hunting for the final ticket. Their match may go to another three  games today against Lee SM/Tsai CH. In the other all KOR semifinal, the defending champions Lee YD/Yoo YS are slightly favoured to move into last round once again.
