According the the news, XXF said after finish this year's tournament, she may left the national team Initially thought that XXF's name is not in the retired list, she would persist to play until 2010. XXF said she just decided it not long ago, just wait for LYB's permit. XXF also said WYH got the Japan Open title whereas WL got the Denmark and French Open titles, they already grown up, so now the national team can no longer need me anymore. This is one of the reasons she feels at ease to leave the national team. Source: http://sports.sina.com.cn/o/2008-11-20/14494081923.shtml
yeah, i guess her time is up many young chinese womens shuttlers are coming up... wl,wyh, zjj, lxr,lh, etc..
who is lh??? or u mean HL??? Erm.. actually ZJJ is born in 1985, haha... so she must grab her chance as soon as possible. WL & WYH might have the chance to take part in 2012 & 2016 olympic as they are still young. But ZJJ already 31 in year 2016
Note The thread's title was "XXF: I may be retired at the end of this year". That means that XXF says she is willing to be retired (by someone, maybe the team management) at the end of 2008. It looks to me that what you mean is: "XXF: I might retire at the end of this year". Accordingly, the thread's title has been changed
All of a sudden this group of young Chinese WS and WD players start emerging this year. Especially Wang Lin, she seems so relax on the court and has a power smash. She should be able to replace XXF as the new #1 Chinse WS and supported by Jiang Yanyiao and Wing Lin. Even former world champ, Zhu Lin may be by-passed again in the next Olympic. And DU/YU dominating WD, even without ZN, XXF and GL, I doubt if any other team can challenge them in the next UC.
If XXF no longer has the mood, not amount of pressure from coaches will allow her to regain her glory. Best to let her retire and "cook soup" as madbad would put it. The time for Jiang Yanjiao has passed, unless LYB decides that she will replace the vulnerable Zhu Lin and help lead her younger teammates. This is especially important in team competitions. Lu Lan, athough she's been in the 1st team for years, is only 21 and probably not ready to take leadership role for another 2 years. But at least she did save China from defeat against Holland in the crucial Uber Cup tie. Zhu Jingjing has an outside chance, but more talented youngsters are making it difficult.
XXF still has a few more years to continue with her brilliance . Is this a factual thing about China Badminton ... that LYB makes all the decisions for their players? Personally, I think XXF still has a few more years to continue with her brilliance. .
agree with u . i think that she is still good.only lack motivation, wanna see her around still playing badminton instead of cooking soup so soon.haha
Ya me agreed to. XXF should put back more motivation and she should have few more years to play. XXF should thing back when she was left out from 2004 Olympic and won 6 back to back Super Series go gain back the spirit of winning and continue to play.
Zhu Lin migrating from China ??? . It would be great if ZL could/would migrate to Hong Kong, Malaysia or Australia. But let us return to talk about XXF... because this thread is for her. .
If a person is lacking motivation, better let them go. This is the same with other careers, people leave due to lack of motivation. But the reason LYB would resist (if he does) is that they need a strong figure in WS as leader of the squad. But I don't think XXF wanted the job, all this while Zhang Ning was leading until her retirement. Zhu Lin could not manage to even win tournaments after the World Championships. Lu Lan is still too young and naive, so now they brought back Jiang Yanjiao (same batch as Zhu Lin) to address the gap.
If nobody want to become WS leader then i suggest LYB to take this responsibility. He should take part in WS in near future if he dare to
Yes, correct. My statement left out the word "consistently" in between "tournaments" and "after". I was in Senayan at the finals, Maria was forcing Zhu Lin to huff and puff, I was afraid she might collapse. Although Zhu Lin won, I think her bad physical conditioning that night forced LYB's hand to reinstate Zhang Ning in the Olympics squad. Even though we may not like LYB's manipulation of his players' results sometimes, he did make the right call that time .....
