CH had a smash around the same power as LD I think. Like in WC2006, he was hitting smashes around 300km/h, with an NS8000 no less. That shows you that the real smashing boss is the NS8000 :cool::cool:.

I just checked the guiness book of records 2006 , which was obviously made after fu hai feng's smash of 209mpp(i think) , but in the section racket sports (we don't have our own page :O , insulted) it says the fastest shuttlecock speed off a badminton racket , was made by simon archer in 1996 at 260km/h , or 162mph , why :O !!

OKY DOKY, just to sort things out. I just watched the exact point on my Version of the Game ( with english commentary ), and right after the replay Gill Clark confirmed that it was a mistake, it wasn't 339 but 239 according the statstician ( sorry if i mispelled that )

260km/h is totally different compare to 332km/h.

Anyone has the screen capture of it or the video maybe ?

    cheers

The Guinness Book is a compendium of records that were either set in the presence of officials approved by the publishers or have a verifiable historical account.

The Book doesn't list modern records that Guinness wasn't invited to verify (or couldn't be bothered to accept or check). That also means that immaterial efforts take precedence over relevant achievements.

    Consider this:

On 21 December 2006, Li Huifeng of China set a world record of 4 hours 40 minutes for juggling a shuttlecock non-stop using only the feet, without the shuttlecock ever touching the ground. This mark was set in Beijing during the taping of a TV show 'Zheng Da Zong Yi', a Guinness Records Special.

The entry is under 'Longest Shuttlecock Control with Feet' - which is about as relevant and important as 'Longest Tennis-ball Control with Head' or 'Longest Omelette Control with Elbow' ;)

Simon Archer's was the relevant record that Fu Haifeng shattered.
Indeed, a great many post-1996 players have crossed 300 km/h.
In Men's Singles, Taufik Hidayat has a recorded smash at 305 km/h.

I do not have access to the 2009 edition but, from what has gone before, it's quite likely Haifeng hasn't yet replaced Archer.

    We have three options here:
    1. Inform Guinness that their information sucks
    2. Do nothing
    3. Invite Guinness and set a new record for 'Longest non-stop head-banging on a synthetic badminton court' :p

just watcched the youtube version guys, and saw a comment i think you should see:
Well, it turns out it was a mistake after all!

I've just run through the version with English commentary.

After that smash, the pathetic male commentator known to us as 'That Guy' is (as usual) blissfully unaware of the significance of the radar figure and rambles on without a pause... and then, Gill Clark interrupts him.

This is what she then says:

"Just to correct that... the speed of that smash there wasn't 339... it was 239... and it's just been confirmed by our statistician".

Well, talk about going in circles :(

JustSmash, the comment that you copied from youtube and posted here was earlier copied by some shameless copier from post#9 in this thread and posted there.

you noticed that lin dan's grip is only on the bottom half of the racket? i think he uses it to force himself to use the tip... probably for more power
