Ya, rather boring to see all the top chinses MS on one side of the draw. They all know each other moves and their matches would look like fixed.

With Kido/Hendra's confirmed withdrawal, now, Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan have a chance to qualify for the QF. They just need to beat either Sun Junjie/He Hanbin or their ex team-mates Hendra A. Gunawan/Alvent Yulianto Chandra in R32. Winning that match, they will play either Kristoff Hopp/Johannes Schoettler or Kasper Faust Henriksen/Christian John Skovgaard (who will be promoted to replace Kido/Hendra). Surely, these 4 pairs should be manageable given Bona/Ahsan's ranking at no 11 right now??? If they do qualify for the QF, then, the sixth-seed Lee Yong Dae/Shin Baek Cheol will most likely await them there.

As for Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki, the first round is a tough match against the fourth-seed Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari/Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif. If they can progress, they will face either Chris Adcock/Robert Blair or DEN's no 3 pair Simon Mollyhus/Anders Kristiansen for a place in the QF. Another Korean pair or the eighth-seed Anthony Clark/Nathan Robertson will probably await them in the QF. IMHO, this quarter is definitely the toughest one in the MD draw.

I will think that Candra Wijaya/Joko Riyadi can beat Gan Teik Chai/Tan Bin Shen in R32, but, the mighty Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong will await them in R16.

I'm more anxious to see TH's 7 new WMD in action. I hope his 7 WMD aren't vaporwares like those of SH (Saddam H.):D

INA can forget about WS or WD as all the players will have tough matches beginning from the first round. Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii will straight-away challenge the top-seed Chien Yu-Chin/Cheng Wen-Hsing; while Meiliana Jauhari/Shendy Puspa Irawati get the worst luck in drawing probably the toughest non-seeded opponent in Cheng Shu/Zhao Yunlei. If they win that match, they could fulfill their seeding as their next opponent is either a Swedish or Thai pair.

In the WS, Pia Bernadet Zebadiah has a realistic chance of reaching R16, as she faces Judith Meulendijks in R32. However, the third-seed Lu Lan will await her next. Likewise, Adriyanti Firdasari should face Lydia Cheah Li Ya in R32, while Xie Xingfang will be the next opponent in R16. Maria Kristin Yulianti has a tough match against Wang Yihan in R32 and the winner will play the second-seed Zhou Mi in R16.

As for MS, Simon Santoso will face a rematch against the fourth-seed Peter Gade as early as R32. If he can beat Peter, Ng Wei or Sairul Amar Ayob will be the next opponent for a place in the last 8, where the seventh-seed Taufik Hidayat should be waiting.

Taufik himself has a relatively tough (but manageable) draw up to QF. He will be facing the rising TPE pair Hsieh Yu-Hsin, followed by either Chetan Anand or Andrew Smith.

Sony Dwi Kuncoro has the easiest draw up to QF as he will face a qualifier in R32, followed by either Ville Lang or Dicky Palyama next. However, the top-seed Lee Chong Wei will be the tough opponent starting from QF. Also, the 3 INA players will be in the same half of the draw. So, if Sony can beat Lee Chong Wei and qualify for SF, either Simon Santoso, Peter Gade or Taufik Hidayat will be the opponent there.

Tommy Sugiarto has a tough draw in the MS Qualifying. He will face Chong Wei Feng in the first match, followed by either Kuan Beng Hong or Anup Sridhar for a place in the main draw where Arvind Bhat will be awaiting. The reward for beating 3 players will be the third-seed Chen Jin in R16.

INA's best chance of a title in Birmingham is arguably XD. The top-seed Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir has a kind draw till QF where they should beat Hsieh Yu-Hsin/Chien Yu-Chin and Songphon Anugritayawon/Kunchala Voravichitchaikul for a place in the QF. However, the 2 main CHN opponents could await them in QF (Xie Zhongbo/Zhang Yawen) and SF (He Hanbin/Yu Yang). Although Nova/Butet have superior head-to-head records against both pairs (esp He/Yu), they lost twice in a row to Xie/Zhang late last year.

Meanwhile, the opponent in the Final should be the second-seed Lee Yong Dae/Lee Hyo Jung, although pairs like Zheng Bo/Ma Jin or Xu Chen/Zhao Yunlei or the fifth-seed Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl , the eight-seed Sudket Prapakamol/Saralee Thoungthongkam or the fourth-seed Anthony Clark/Donna Kellogg are also lurking in the second-half of the draw.

Meanwhile, the unseeded Xie/Zhang will have to beat Flandy Limpele/Anastasia Ruskikh and the seventh-seed Robert Blair/Imogen Bankier for the right to play Nova/Butet.

As for the third-seed He/Yu, they will have an easy draw up to QF, where the rising and dangerous DEN pair of Joachim Fischer-Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen could probably await them. INA's other pair, Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita is also in this quarter. They have a tough match against Koo Kien Keat/Ng Hui Lin in R32 and winning that match should pit them against a Danish pair (either Fischer-Nielsen/Pedersen or Rasmus Bonde/Helle Nielsen).

correct me if im wrong, but i think i saw Jo Novita/Rani Mundiasti listed on the draw also. they're in the same pool with zang yawen/zhao ting-ting, pan-pan/qing tian and chin/wong. and should face qualifier in the 1st round.....

will INA get A title in AE?

After a long time I haven't spent to write on this forum..I finally back..so much things have been changed..incl. Mr. President decision from INA National squad, I could barely say in this first SS series after several resigns from Pelatnas..INA team morale got downed ..they might have a mountain climb this time to send even a representative in the AE final, realistically They would have only a chance to contend until SF. With just XD pair Nova/ Lily sorrounded by dozens tough opponents, INA would just begin with non title tournament in AE. But we'll see what will happen..maybe INA non pelatnas will get their higher motivation to win a title and prove PBSI that they've been wrongdone.

IMO, anything about this draw is not good for Indonesia team..
OMG, everyone of them is facing hard opponents. I guess Indonesia have to wait for another year to at least winning a title from AE.
    Soooo damnn sad..
