That was interview with Hafiz in Berita Harian entitled " Hafiz sasar aksi separuh akhir Terbuka India"(Hafiz targets Semi finish in India Open). The 80% is Hafiz's perception.;);)

Exactly. I would prefer it if they wouldn't "warn" them in the first place. What's the point when everyone knows there is no one else currently to fall back on anyway? Although a few of the juniors have made some progress lately...

Let me just ask you all a question. How did LCW made a breakthrough at the age of 22 when he won the Malaysia Open? Was he given more exposure than the current junior batch or he did it with pure talent.

Pls see for yourself, the tourneys LCW played in prior to the MO 2004 win :
http://internationalbadminton.org/player_info.asp?playerid=50152
Take note how far or not far LCw went in 2002, 2003.:p

Compare that to 22 y.o.(or 21++) Chong Wei Feng :
http://internationalbadminton.org/player_info.asp?playerid=52030

Not that much difference eh? CWF even won an International Challenge when he was 20 in 2007.
The continuation of this discussion will be in the "Msia back up" thread

He won over Chen Hong in semifinal, if i'm not mistaken. That was stunning!
And he never turned back.

The exposure given to Yeoh Kay Bin, his other teammate is the same, but he failed to prevail.
I must say, pure talent helps. Very much.

Thanks, that's pretty interesting. I only started following badminton late 2005 (unless you count the 2004 Olympics) so I didn't know about any of this. I guess I shouldn't lose hope in any of the younger players too early then :).

Yes, and sometimes we let the talents go too early. We missed them forever.
Who's lost? Us.

2009 India Open: Chen Long defeated Lee Chong Wei in Round 1

.
Oh no, but Congratulations to Chen Long ...

Long CHEN [IMG][CHN] defeated [IMG][MAS] Chong Wei LEE [1] 7-21, 21-16, 21-18, in 50 minutes.

It's all up to Taufik Hidayat now... to get to the Finals by himself. :(:(:(

Malaysia Boleh; Lee Chong Wei - MS WR1

Dewasa ini kita saling merayakan
Kejayaan yang akhirnya membinasakan
Apalah gunanya kematangan fikiran
Bila di jiwa kita masih lagi muda
Dan mentah
Ku lihat hijau ....

The above is the lyrics for the song, Hijau by Zainal Abidin. Any fans of Zainal here??

Just had my lunch - McD takeway (cheese burger/fries & coke) and heard Hijau being played on the radio. A simple, lovely, meaningful and well written song.

Ahhh ... the India Open badminton. Hmm ... first round, eh?? Chen Long - who was it here in this forum that told me that em' Chinese are having some shortage of quality shuttlers in their junior/back up squads???? Cant wait for our CWF or that Liew Daren guy to send LD packing in the first round.

Anyway, back to serious business ....

First round.

India Open.

Chinese junior shuttler.

I believe this is just a one off. I mean LCW have been away from home for sometime. He must be fatigue or homesick by now. It is not easy being away from home, travelling, living out of a suitcase, pressure from fans at home, NSC, Sports Minister etc. What is important is that he won the SO. And this India trip enabled him to experienced the local indian cuisine, sights, shopping which will gear him up nicely for the coming WC.

I hope Boleh fans wont throw away their drums and trumpets with this early first round exit. Lets continue to support LCW in the name of Malaysia Boleh.

As per Zainal's hijau ....

Oh..anok-anok
tokleh meghaso mandi laok
Besaing,maing ghama-ghama
Ale lo ni tuo umurnyo bejuto
Kito usoho
Jauhke dari malapetako
Ozon lo ni koho nipih nak nak aghi
Keno make asak
Hok biso wei,pasa maknusio
Seghemo bendo-bendo di dunio
Tokleh tehe
Sapa bilo-bilo
