2009 India Open: LCW got sick from food poisoning? . I hope that WMC, TH, Saina, and the rest are OK. .
Er, look closely and you'll see who has come up with the excuse. It is not any of us... it is Lee Chong Wei
2009 India Open: A BIG surprise that LCW was eliminated in the first round . Excuse or not ... is not that important. The important thing is that: It's a BIG surprise that LCW was eliminated in the first round. But we have to congratulate Chen Long ... Not many players can defeat a sick LCW. .
Hi limsy!! LCW must have been one unfortunate shuttler because for all the shuttlers taking part in the India Open, it looks like he is the only one down with food poisoning. Poor lad.
What is meant is it'll be & is being implied that LCW is giving excuse, maybe not really sick. Someone already posted, how come only LCW food poisoning, others not food poisoning. Normal-lah, in 2007 LCW knee injured lost also got critised badly. If knee injured till plastered also cannot, food poisioning even more so. Wait for tommorrow's main newspapers if you want to read comments from assistant coach Tey or Rashid Sidek.
When was the last time LCW lost to someone outside top 10? If not mistaken, LCW lost to Boonsak @ ABC last year after a hectic first quarter. Is world number one losing to a World Junior Champion a very big deal? It sounded like world number ones have never lost in the first rounds from the past.
Have you ever seen the Brazilian football team being beaten by Iraq the Asian Champs? Or Rapheal Nadal being beaten by some junior tennis champ?? Or LCW our national champ being beaten by our national junior champ?? But anyway, hold on to your horses, it is no shame being beaten by a better opponent (junior champ or no). We just got to be big enough to accept that our LCW, MS WR1 got thumped by a better shuttler today who so happens to be a junior shuttler. Malaysia Boleh to you
hahahaha ... different standards la. When Malaysian shuttlers beat the rest, we are the best. Malaysia Boleh and all. But when Malaysians shuttlers got beaten, toys will be thrown out from the pram.
From Taufik's blog - "...meeting with Chong Wei again, hope we'll be able to have dinner again like in Switzerland." !! Oh no...!
You are comparing apple with orange... Examples of world number ones losing to teenagers: (1) Roger Federer was beaten by teenager Andy Murray a few times. (2) Martina Navratilova was beaten a few times by teenager Steffi Graff. (3) Chris Evert was beaten a few times by a teenager named Steffi Graff. Btw, it's disrespectful to mis-spell player's name. It's Rafael Nadal.
Federer, Navratilova & Evert when they were world #1s held major titles. Talking about comparing apple with orange. About mis-spelling names, it's Stefanie Maria Graf. Disrespectful.
Well, Lin Dan lost to Park Sung Hwan in the first round of the China SS 2007 and in the first round of Athens Olympics 2004 Lee Chong Wei himself had suffered first round losses at the Singapore and Swiss SS 2007. The two-times World Champions Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir got humbled in the first round of Denmark SS 2007 & Korea SS 2008. Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan also lost to the Japanese pair in the first rounds of AE 2006 & 2008. Well, of course these players have all won the MAJOR titles....shame on Lee Chong Wei
