Hafiz always looked calm, it's in his demeanour. So is Taufik, unless he has problems with line calls.

I think Indian BA is trying to push ticket sales, that's why they set up the XD match first.

I just hope TH and HH will give us a super performance.
    May the best man win!

And I think our MD brothers pair of Hendri and Hendra deserves to win at least one title for all the hard work they have put in. The 'uncles' have too many titles already lah! :D

But they still have more winners than our unseeded pair! So if the badminton world is fair  the brothers should be given more motivation and incentive to excel! :)

I just sense that one of the Malaysian singles players might surprise us but I'm not sure whick one.

One title for Malaysia is satisfactory, two is a bonus and three is the best.

    Borrowing badMania's template here ....

    Mixed Doubles FINAL
    Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa
[3] vs V. Diju/Jwalla Gutta [2] -- Diju/Gutta needs to pick up pace to trouble favoured Indonesian pair.

    Men's Doubles FINAL
Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah[1] vs Hendri Kurniawan Saputra/Hendra Wijaya -- If SG pair can reduce lifts and maintain rallies, they can take the match. MAS pair very powerful but less mobile.

    Women's Doubles FINAL
Vita Marissa/Nadya Melati vs Ma Jin/Wang Xiaoli -- If not for the fact that Vita is playing 2 matches, INA would have an even chance.

    Men's Singles FINAL
Mohd Hafiz Hashim [10] vs Taufik Hidayat [2] -- Taufik to stamp his class and make the spectators happy ..... possible 3 gamer likely.

    Women's Singles FINAL
    Pi Hongyan
[1] vs Julia Wong Pei Xian [5] -- Pi not in top form, yet she has more than enough tricks to take this home.

2009 India Open Finals: Predicting the WINNERS

    .
Predicting the WINNERS: Hope to get at least 3 correct. ;););)

    Mixed Doubles to INA:
Flandy LIMPELE [3][IMG][INA] Vita MARISSA[IMG][INA] to win in 2 games.

Although [IMG][IND] Diju VALIYAVEETIL [2] [IMG][IND] Jwala GUTTA are playing at their homeground and that they are seeded higher, Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa have more experience when it comes to playing big matches at Finals.

    Mens Doubles to MAS:
Tan Fook CHOONG [1][IMG][MAS] Wan Wah LEE[IMG][MAS] to win in 2 games.

Some will say that [IMG][SIN] Hendri Kurniawan SAPUTRA [IMG][SIN] Hendra WIJAYA have better stamina. IMHO, stamina plays a lesser role in Doubles. However, will Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah be able to match up with their opponents' speed and power? That's the more important question.

    Womens Doubles to CHN:
[IMG][CHN] Jin MA [IMG][CHN] Xiaoli WANG to win in 2 games.

The combination of Vita MARISSA[IMG][INA] Nadya MELATI[IMG][INA] is just a shade weaker. Furthermore, Vita Marissa will not have enough time to recover from her Mixed Doubles. I think the Mens Doubles match will be shorter than 30 minutes. Feel so sorry for VM. :(:(:(

    Mens Singles to INA:
[IMG][INA] Taufik HIDAYAT [2] to win in 3 games.

A great achievement for Muhammad Hafiz HASHIM [10][IMG][MAS] to arrive at this MS Finals. But here, Taufik Hidayat is more determined to lift his first title in 2009.

    Womens Singles to MAS:
[IMG][MAS] Julia Pei Xian WONG [5] to win on 3 games.

I was surprised that Julia Wong Pei Xian defeated [IMG][IND] Saina NEHWAL [2] 12-21, 21-13, 21-18 in a long match of 55 minutes. I am expecting this match to go the same distance. Hongyan PI [1][IMG][FRA] won't be able to match up with the fitness of Julia Wong Pei Xian.

Although HH has reach the final of a tournament after such a loonooooong lean spells but Taufik is another level of player.

Even at his best, HH chances of beating TH is about 30-70... so if the Evil HH come playing today his chances of beating TH is 5-95!

The exciting part about MSF is pitting Unpredictable vs Unpredictable. My guess is for Hafiz to win.Reason? Sheer hunger and confidence.

2009 India Open Finals: Hafiz Hashim to have almost NO CHANCE of defeating Taufik?

    .
:D:D:D SibugiChai ... Are saying that HH will have almost NO CHANCE of defeating TH?

The 30-70 chance I agree. But definitely not the 5-95. ;););)

75 minutes from the final showdown and I have already picked my vantage pt, dead centre on row 6.

The organizers are still doing last minute preps at the arena. Usually in Malaysia, this would have been done the previous night.

    Avataar hasn't arrived yet.
