Yea for any one owning badminton stringing machines or other similar machines, eagnas etc. you really need to invest into the wise since its cost is equal or more than the price you probably spent on entire stringing machine.

i tried 34x36lbs (uncalibrated) tonight on the Alpha Shuttle Express. in short, i think the machine is rock solid. 36 is the highest marking on the tensioner's scale, although in theory i can dial another 2 lbs but i wasn't going to risk my good old cab20.

anyway, i pre-strung the whole racket, dialed in the tension, and starting pulling each string. i pulled slowly as well as release slowly as i didn't want to shock the frame. it was a bit nerve wrecking i have to say. anyway, the ASE held up effortlessly without any stress at all. the side support never budged, the turntable was smooth, there is very very little lean on the turntable, maybe a millimeter or so, hardly noticable. the tensioner was still smooth. it didn't feel much different than stringing at lower tension.

originally i had doubts about the rigidity of the ASE as it didn't look very sturdy at all. now i have a lot of confidence in it.

as for the cab20, it held up too, slightly compressed at 2/10 o'clock. and it feels like a wooden board. i cannot believe some of you try to do 36lb on a constant pull. that will be hardly playable!

    Kwun,

How many clamps did you use? Are they good enough to hold such high tensions?

Lean on the turntable? Do you mean tilt?

The compression in that area is normal if you start the cross top down :D. How does the strung frame look compared to an unstrung CAB 20 frame? Do you notice narrowing in one area and fattening in another? Is the strung frame slightly shorter?

In theory, we can swap the Eagnas ST-200's spring into the ASE :D.

You get to have four for the main strings and two to three for the cross strings ;).

Get two HQ/MBS for the mains and two Yonex for the crosses.

getting two pair is too much $$. as my Alpha clamps are adequate for the mains, i am going to get a pair of Yonex ones.

Hehe, you sure are on a tight budget. Can't you ask for an unsecuritized loan from the CFO? :D

Please write a report on how your CAB 20 plays at 34 X 36 (around 31 X 33) and post the review in a separate thread.

There is another modification that can increase the tension range of the ASE, by substituting the original spring with Eagnas's (chromed spring). I remember the Eagnas's can go up to 50 + pounds :D. However, the dial might be completely off as a result.

    LOL

I'm sure you can bolt on the entire spring/tensioning dial unit, yes/no?

Kwan, how do you like the mounting posts on the unit?

I know you mentioned you strung 34x36lbs...

Just curious whether or not you did notice any distortion in the frame of the racquet while stringing.
