Yes it's pretty ridiculous considering that shirts worn by tennis players Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, etc cost between SGD 50-80 at Nike and Adidas boutique stores.

For that amount of cash, you may not want to wear them out anyway...so give a few months and go to Petaling Street in KL and get some knockoffs for a fraction of $189.90, and wear them to show off, heck who can tell anyway. Caution: don't wash and especially dry them in electric dryer otherwise you will have to get your 6 year old brother to wear them after that:D:p

Wow..... For THAT amount of money I could buy and IPhone instead of a racket thats made by a company that half the world doesnt even know about. Considering that its thier 1st step towards becoming internationally known brand, thier marketing strategy do sucks.

I mean...even if your trying to make your product high class....pricing it at that amount is just stupidly ridiculous. And a shirt that cost $189.... Are they trying to compete with designer label clothes??

iPhone is Apple's first venture into the mobile phone space. It also demanded quite a premium. Plus, consider China's population and LN's sponsorship of Team China a lot more people know about LN than YY.

Remember that this is marketing and not sales strategy. LN is obviously not trying to sell N90 by the cartons. There are enough fan-base that will purchase quite a few of those rackets despite the price tag.

N90 is a marketing tool. Instead of starting at a low price and trying to work their way up (Kason and other brands already tried that), LN chose the high road. Price their products so that people will discuss it rather than ignore it. They got you discussing about them, their marketing strategy is indeed a huge success.

All this complaining about the price being too high signals that there is a desire to buy from the brand.

Is the N90 available in Malaysia now?

I was informed by a shop owner in JB that the RRP of the N90 is approx. M$1,000 (~S$410/US$275) before shop discount (say 10%-30% - my guess based on discounts given for yonex racquets). These prices would definitely be more attractive than those in Singapore. Its time to go shopping in JB again! :D

If you plan to compare it with Panda Power Ultra or Trinity, I'd be interested to know.

    Partly..

..partly also because there has never been another brand, one which is not well known for its baddy products, that could put its prices higher than those of regular or even top of the line Yonex products.
Partly also because of the baddy players who are attached to the brand.

If someone is kind to lend me a Trinity or Ultra I would love to test it (just like the Zelm).. But I do not plan to buy these.

    Cheers,

Looks like LN is selling well even at high pricing...one reason is that some people have too much money to burn and do not know what to do...second reason is like growing up in MAS, we often heard people say 'there comes a new toilet, gotta try it out and when you use it a few times, it is the same old crap', and still no significant improvement in performance after all if the player is crappy, no racket can help!:D:p
