Jap is strong in WS........with 4 players in QF and already have 2 advanced to SF.......... the other 2 have yet to play their match.........still have chance to sweep all 4 slots in SF.........hehehehe
Yeah, three Japanese WS players in semifinal spot so far...Megumi Taruno, Sayaka Sato and Eriko Hirose.
Finally... Maria Febe win 17-21 21-17 21-19...over Ayane KUrihara Not All Japan Semifinal... :crying:
Yes, u want it, u got it ............Maria Febe save 1 spot for INA........with a good win over AK in 56 mins.......
poor Debby, lost in both XD and WD... six spots in SF, with all-INA-final-possibility in XD. Not bad for the youngsters..
Just back from watching the games... i believe i have prob seen the most unbelieveable thing in badminton Changing a racquet in the middle of the match and it also happened 2X!!!! 1st game: MD Kumar and Thomas [1] IND vs Windarto and Wirawan IND In the 2nd or 3rd game, one of the indo pair rushed in to change his racquet in the middle of the rally while his partner covered 4 him.. tho they lost that point 2nd game: MD Gan Teik Chai and Tan Bin Shen [3] MAS vs Mccarthy and Veeran In the 2nd game, i think 13th or 14th point 4 the malaysians, teik chai rushed to his racquet bag, tossed out his racquet and pulled a new racquet to use and went on to win the point. BUT bad prob.. the racquet he tossed went all the way to the next court, almost going into the playing area.. and well, the service judge of dat game gave him a warning
He could've won the rally if he took out the right racquet (the one he took was also broken) btw, it was wifqi
Andre Kurniawan Tedjono is in the SF after defeating Yoga. One of my friends thought Andre cannot play well after his 82 minute marathon yesterday. But Andre proved him wrong... Andre will play a rematch with Wong Wing Ki who defeated him last week in Melbourne. WWK was good enough to beat Andrew Smith in straight sets... He is very dangerous....
2009 New Zealand Open Grand Prix: Who will make it into the Finals? . The Japanese players are doing well at this 2009 NZ Open GP. My guesses of 'Who will make it into the Finals'? Mens Singles:. 1. Chan Yan Kit [1] 2. Andre Kurniawan [2] Both should be more prepared now, after having made earlier exits at the Australian Open GP last week. Womens Singles: 1. Eriko Hirose [5] 2. Maria Febe Kusumastuti [4] EH is looking fresh and in form. Unsure if MFK is now getting tired. Let's hope she can make it into another round; into the Finals. Mens Doubles: 1. Gan Teik Chai / Tan Bin Shen [3] 2. Hirokatsu Hashimoto / Norijasu Hirata [4] Looks like GTC/TBS are in great form recently. And HH/NH have been doing quite well in this tournament. Womens Doubles: 1. Chan Tsz Ka / Tse Ying Suet [1] 2. Anneka Feinya Agustine / Anisa Wahyuni [2] Looks like the top 2 seeds will make it into the Finals. Mixed Doubles: 1. Yohan Hadikusumo / Chau Hoi Wah [1] 2. Yogendran Krishnan / Anita Raj Kaur It looks like this HKG pair is getting better and better. Perhaps, the MAS pair could upset the 7th seed (Kurniawan / Zebadiah). .
Sorry folks, none of the pictures thus far have been from me. Only managed to start attending from last night I'm uploading now as we speak... From what I saw, I think there will be a good finals ahead
Hi. I was wondering if you saw Erica Pong playing. The Australians must be feeling encouraged by her good form. Some positives for NZ - some of the mixed doubles & Michelle Chan & Rachel Hindley doing well in the women's doubles. When I said earlier that I was surprised by some of the seeding, I would have expected this duo to get seeding ahead of Gregory/O'Connor. I guess the ranking systems will always produce some odd results. Good photos Jim- I felt like I was there.
