BadFever was asking for a way to filter certain posters or posts..

..i gave the link to show that it's possible (although i never used that feature).
Now, is the link the same as the one regarding unsubscribing to threads (DinkAlot's request)??..

    DinkAlot's thread is quite different

    .
Yes, I have read LingLing's thread - To stop receiving 100's of email notifications from BC.

DinkAlot's thread is quite different - It's about unsubscribing to certain threads.
    Check again: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37646

    ^^Yes, i know..^^

..okay, the link i gave is slightly different (though somewhat related to the unsubscribing request); if one noticed, i did put a link to DinkAlot's request in that thread...
But still, is the process of unsubscribing to threads (DinkAlot's request) the same as the process i gave (Add/Block filter members)???..*sigh*

In DinkAlot's thread, we were not talking about 'Trolls'

    ^^So..^^

..i guess we've been discussing abt different topic or on different wavelength??..
Of course, DinkAlot's thread wasn't dealing with "Trolls"...

So, is the process i gave (abt Adding/Blocking filtering members) the same as as the process requested by DinkAlot (Unsubscribing to threads)???..

It's eventually up to us to decide who are our "Trolls", and who are not

    .
Don't know how to answer your question.:eek::eek:

*sigh*Okay, my last post on this since it seems like we are lost..*sigh*

..so, BadFever earlier requested some sort of filtering system on how to block out certain member or threads/posts by certain members that we don't want to read/reply.

I then suggested that BC has a similar filtering system (see my post below).
Well, chris-ccc then popped up and mentioned that yes, there's another thread (DinkAlot's request on how to unsubscribe to threads) which is similar to what i suggested; i then re-asked if he is sure abt that (see his 2 posts below). Apparently chris-ccc thinks both are the same??:
..so, chris-ccc brought up the link to that related thread (how to unsubscribe threads) as a reference.
And here we are still wondering if both processes are actually the same.
Here, i'll present the process and links for both (1st is the one for unsubscribing to threads; 2nd is the method i gave to Add/Block members):
..now, i don't think it's difficult to differentiate.
Can anyone confirm to us whether both processes and links are actually the same/lead to the same feature? can drifit give us an answer? or can george@chongwei give us the answer?..

Once again..the buddy and ignore lists feature..

..this is in response to BadFever's request/wish to filter out certain members. It's all there and it doesn't get any simpler than that.
Please follow the direction, i've shown, to activate that feature:
    http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/faq.php?faq=vb_user_maintain#faq_vb_buddy_explain

What are the buddy and ignore lists?
The buddy list is used to keep track of the friends you have made on this forum. By going to your "Open Buddy List" in "Quick Links" menu of the navbar, you'll be able to see which of your friends are currently online and send them a private message. Adding people to your buddy list also allows you to send private messages to multiple forum members at the same time. You may add any member of the forums to your buddy list by viewing their profile or by going to "Buddy / Ignore Lists" in your "User CP".

Ignore lists are used for those people whose messages you wish not to read. By adding someone to your ignore list, those messages posted by these individuals will be hidden when you read a thread.

Yup. This is what I want, hide the thread/posts. Thanks for checking out. Hopefully, those who find one or more BCers annoying, just use the function by entering the BCers nick into the Ignore List.

already read 4 times and i am still confuse what you guys talking about? :p
    1. subscribe/unsubscibe threads - okay
    2. add group/ignore/block members - only functioning in PM
    3. filtering threads or certain members' posts - not in system nor will do it. this may cause kwun or BC being "discriminate". :D

propose; install filters in your own eyes or heart. ;)

    Understood.

So, you can't prevent those annoying post from appearing in the thread. To ignore, you have to scroll down. Am I right?

The title of the threads & posts will still appear & you will still read the posts when other members quote the post in their reply.
